"So you are against charging a kid for possession of sugar? For or against? Which is it?"

School policy aside, I'm for charging the kid with the crime committed. He was charged with violating the Illinois Controlled Substances Act, 720 ILCS 570/404(b), unlawful distribution of a look-alike substance, a Class 3 felony.

I doubt, however, that they can make that charge stick. Because of that, I feel they should drop the charge to violating the Illinois Controlled Substances Act, 720 ILCS 570/404(c), unlawful possession of a look-alike substance, a petty offense.

another thing I thought about with this case is if the child is convicted it will go on his record as a drug crime and that means he loses all financial aid to attend college under the Higher Education Act's drug provision wich means you will be supporting him financial for the rest of his life with your tax money when he has to go on welfare because he cant get a job worth having with no college education

if he had shot the kid that ask him if he had coke on him when he got out of prison he would be able to get all the financial aid he wanted to attend college.Does that seem just a touch bass achwards to you?Or do you like the idea of him not ever having a shot of going to college if he is convicted of having sugar when there are rapist and child molester that are in college right now getting student aid that he will never be eligible for?

Got an answer?

I already gave you the answer. If you don't like the answer, that is not my problem.

So, this law is a pile of BS, but you advocate enforcing it to the full extent anyway?

Very informative..and scary.

The police, prosecutor and school "officials" need to be involuntarily committed to an insane asylum ASAP.

Hey, not so fast there!

They ought to be given the opportunity to go voluntarily. If they decline the offer, well, then go round 'em up. :)

So you're for it. What's the problem? I didn't misrepresent your unthinking fanaticism. You want to throw a kid in jail for having a bag of sugar because it kind of looks like coke. That's insane. You hate drug users so much that you are insane.

You're a one man lollerfest. And Mojave is just the icing on the cake.

ROFLMAO! Wish I could have seen her face.

"Well, pin a rose on you."

As long as you don't pin a felony on him as a result. That rose could be a look-alike drug for poppies, and we don't want any look-alike-heroin addicts on FR.

"They sell little baggies one isle over. I think we can make the connection. It's time to nail the Kroger cartel once and for all."

You know you're going to be inciting some prosecutor to bust Kroger for possession of drug paraphernalia now, doncha? The Feds could use a supermarket chain to go with their cathouse and powerboat fleet.

The kid didn't "distribute" it. So he's not guilty of that charge.

But the cafeteria workers all need to be put away for life!

"Another principle tells us that in a fight between a bully and victim, the victim must receive a stronger punishment for being bullied than the bully. This principle mainly protects bullies, gangs, and drug dealers who operate on school property, thus creating a haven for juvenile delinquents and other criminals."

I've always liked that latter one. "No fighting" because "fighting" is always bad, even in self-defense, m'kay? Why? Because it's bad, m'kay, and we can't have bad things in school, m'kay?
