thanks for those reviews. i might just go out now and rent the first two Aliens, i may enjoy them more than i think.
You have 3 gorgeous children, ec! Love their outfits too.
"Donna Brazile promises that we are going to hear from the dems soon on their plans for national security."
De PLAN, De PLAN....
Oh geez. Is this one of the plans Kerry kept promising, or one of the others the Dims keep saying they are going to release?? The problem is they have no ideas, therefore, they can have no plan (only phantom ones) - -their only plans are how are they going to bash Bush more and get back in power, which in the end, is all they care about.
Agree. Others have said that they think that other talk show hosts use FR for prep work. I think they're on to something.
As you've said, if congresscritters and the WH would do the same thing, they'd save a lot of time, get some great talking points, and see the real pulse of Pubbies and conservatives (e.g., what many American people really want)
What gets me is that the MSM keeps calling it "domestic spying" and then wants the administration to go to the FISA court. I am waiting for someone to ask one of these meatheads what the hell the F in FISA stands for.
I've listened to this Hunt guy and he makes many claims, such as that Iran already has a nuke, that he really is not in any position to know much about.
"we are going to hear from the dems soon on their plans for national security"
I hear them loud & clear now. The dems will do anything to stop GWB & another republican congressional victory. They have perverted the old saying
"all's fair in love & war" into:
"All's fair in campaigns & elections"
I didn't catch that... POP. ;)
Thanks for the links and information. Black Republicans are quite different from black Democrats. The GOPers seem to be self sufficient and individualistic. Black Republicans tend to realize they are accepted as individuals and not just part of the group because they are black. Since they are accepted or rejected based on their viewpoints and character, and not just because they are black, they tend to have quite a bit more self respect. It may be my limited knowledge but black Republicans seem to hold politicians feet to the fire better than most white Republicans.
Black Republican candidates I've met are more articulate and knowledgeable about issues than black Democrats. I'm sure that's just another difference between group-think versus self confidence in ones abilities and capabilities.
Black Republicans are not racist, another problem with black Democrats.
I agree. I like George Allen, though as I was listening to and watching him the other day, I thought that he needs to make a few changes in the way he presents himself. I think that he has a 'baby' face, and couple than with the almost constant smiling, a seemingly wanting to please, and a soothing voice, he comes across as a nice person, but, not necessarily a firm leader. I just caught a bit of him giving his CPAC speech and think he came across a bit better then than he does on some of the talk shows. As someone else said on this post - he needs to change handlers and advisers.
Yeah "De Plan" which the Dems have been floating trial baloones about for the last month. Lead point is going to be "More Spending for Education". Yeah, people who see there property taxes go up EVERY year to "pay for education" really are going to want to hear they are NOT paying enough!!!! East response from Conservatives "Dem Canidate, how are you going to pay for that". Try it at a Debate or Open House, the Dem will be completely flustered. The Talking Points will not give them any direction how to respond. That is the key for Repbs. Dems are going to be SO over scripted that as soon as a Repbo or Voter takes them off script they are going to be screwed
I wholeheartedly share your hopes and have been thinking along the same exact lines.
Hopefully, this is just part of Goss's house-cleaning:
CIA counter-terrorism chief steps down ~
The Washington Post ^ | Tuesday, February 7, 2006; 6:20 PM | David Morgan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The head of the CIA's counter-terrorism center has been forced to step down as part of efforts by the spy agency to bolster its pursuit of al Qaeda, current and former intelligence officials said on Tuesday.
Robert Grenier, 51, told colleagues in an e-mail on Monday that he had been asked to move on from the helm of the unit that plans and executes CIA counter-terrorism operations and provides analysis on terrorism issues.
It was not clear whether Grenier planned to leave the spy agency and there was no immediate word on who would succeed him in the counter-terrorism post.
The CIA has been criticized for failing to track down al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and his second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahri, who are believed to be somewhere along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.

I wish some one would ask them "You do realize Courts are designed to respond AFTER a crime is comitted and we are trying PREVENT terrorism right? ee the problem here Democrat Media Whore type person?" That or "What part of Article 2 of the US Consitution do you find so hard to understand?"
All excellent points Morgan and I think you're right on.
Do keep in mind that the first Alien movie was made in 1979, which is almost 30 years ago! There are a couple of FX things that don't work perfectly (the switch from the disembodied head to the talking head, for one) that would be easy to fix now a days. Also, some of the things in the movie may seem like cliches now, but that's because other film makers have stolen liberally from this movie since it came out.
It's like trying to convince someone born in the last 20 years how great the car chase in Bullit was. They go "I've seen that 100 times!" What they don't realize is that Bullit was really the first time for that type of chase to be realized that way and that it set the style for almost all car chases that came after. Alien, in its own way, has been a template for a lot of different things in movies.
An odd bit about Alien that I learned before seeing it, which kind of set me up to want to see it, is that it was written by Dan O'Bannon. Now, that fact itself is not odd, but what is odd is that O'Bannon said that he was basically doing a "redo" on his script for a very wierd little cult movie (directed by John "Escape from NY" Carpenter) from 1974 called Dark Star. I had seen Dark Star when it came out and loved it. Imagine Alien, but done as a comedy. He said "it didn't succeed as a comedy so I rewrote it as a horror movie." That told me volumes about what was going on in Alien. If you ever get a chance to see Dark Star look for common elements, not so much plot elements as "bits of business" that are lifted almost directly from it and recast in Alien. The contrast between the two aliens is the most striking, but if you look hard enough you can also see the similarities.
The GOP needs to play this OVER and OVER and OVER for the American public since I am sure little Tommy Daschel is one of the many voices of the RAT party!!! Run on this in '06 - put it up as a banner speech for all GOP Congresscritters to defeat their lame brained RAT opponents. This ought to be a piece of cake in '06.
My guess is the "domestic" side is all but cut off for now while the RATs and their propaganda arm the MSM keep up this blather about their precious liberties being stomped on by the Bushies. Even calling into play MLK "wiretapping" as though that was the same or by the same party. Even heard someone refer to it as Nixon's wiretap - shows you how well educated our MSM population is.
Actually, your hypothetical question, as you constructed it, would be a violation of her oath and legal requirement of secrecy. She could, however, have gone to her own House leader and to the Speaker of the House and expressed concerns, even just unease at not being able to consult the right experts. The procedures are in place for experts who are properly cleared to come in and answer those questions.
The most devastating response to her "I'm too dumb to realize that there was a problem" defense is to demand that she resign her position so that someone competent can replace her.
My prediction - Sirius and XM will go the way of Iridium and Globalstar. Only a matter of time, a new technology will replace it before it has a chance to recover it's start-up costs, let along turn a profit, ever. Will be sold to lowest bidder for pennies on the dollar and Trash Talker has walked away with millions and has the last laugh!!
That is one of the reason the Asso Press needs to be destroyed. It poisons the well so bad that most of the DNC nonsense gets to be "Conventional wisdom" in DC since all the Junk Journalists keep repeating the lies in each other ears and to the pols.
IIRC, in the sentence preceding the ones shown in the Buffalo Town Hall meeting clip, President Bush narrowed the scope of his answer to limit it to either for purposes of criminal investigation or for totally domestic communicatioins, making the sentences shown in the clip not applicable to these terrorist surveillance intercepts. After showing a selective clip, Tim has the nerve to say that the administration was deliberately MISLEADING the American people. Misleading (as in "domestic witetapping") is what the old media does best.
I have seen that clip over and over lately. I wonder how much coverage the MSM gave to the entire speech when it occurred....any?
Either that or they think that the majority of people watching MSM are not that well informed and believe whatever they feed them as the truth.
We seem to have endless levies around here (including special elections)to pay for schools, emergency services, etc.
The one that was a real kicker for me was a couple of years ago when Seattle was saying they would have to cut emergency services as there wasn't enough money, if the citizens didn't pass a levy or tax increase on something (don't remember which now). IF they hadn't spent $$s on such 'necessities' as very expensive (I think about $75-100k ea) self-cleaning toilets in a few places, $$$s on artwork on a wall so people would have something to look at while they were waiting in line at a dump, and a few other things people just 'can't live without'/s perhaps they would have $$ for emergency services. It just frosts my cookies that the politicians don't seem to think they need to budget funds like the rest of us folks - - you know, like budgeting for and spending on necessities first (shelter, food, healthcare, a little in savings, etc.) and, IF there's money left over save it for a rainy day and/or treat yourself to something. They seem to think they can start with the treats first, knowing that they'll be able to scr*w more $$s out of the citizens yet again for necessities. Little by little the folks on the 'plantation' are saying enough!
Just got this. I probably should not post it but it's too good to resist. Morgan
Cindy Sheehan asked President Bush, "Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"
Another mother asked President Kennedy, "Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"
Another mother asked President Truman, "Why did my son have to die in Korea?"
Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt, "Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"
Another mother asked President W. Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France?"
Yet another mother asked President Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"
And yet another mother asked President G. Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge?"
Then, long, long ago, a mother asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"
The answers to all these are similar -- "that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and freedom."
That would be called censorship - the MSM gets to put out anything it wants, and truth or lies has nothing to do with it. No branch of the Government can tell the press what it can or cannot do!! Go ahead print all the national secrets you want in the front page of every paper in the country, cause God knows you have plenty of LEAKER all lined up and waiting - Toon holdovers in the spy agencies. /sarcasm
Here is the transcipt of the speach.
I'm glad you posted it! It gave me goose bumps and I'm going to share it w friends and family.
I read that earlier - it is a great article!
YES, and thank goodness GWB is not fighting the WOT as Toon did. GWB is fighting it militarily like it should be, not like a police and court action the way Toon and Reno did. Terrorists should never have a day in court so the ACLU can get them off. I say take no prisoners, kill them all.
Speaking of Harmon:

Jane Harmon: NY Times Should be Prosecuted
In a stunning break with her party, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday that the New York Times should be prosecuted for damaging national security by revealing the National Security Agency's top secret terrorist surveillance program authorized by President Bush.
"If the press was part of the process of delivering classified information, there have to be some limits on press immunity," Harmon told NBC's "Meet the Press."
Moderator Tim Russert then pressed: "But if [the NSA leak] came from a whistleblower, should the New York Times reporter be prosecuted?"
Harmon countered: "Well, it's not clear it was a whistleblower. You have to prove that first."
"If it's protected by the whistleblower statute, then it's protected," she explained. Harmon then added, however, that CIA Director Porter Goss recently said that the Times' sources don't qualify under the whistleblower statute.
"By the way, I deplore that leak,"

Watch the new stories. Slowly but surely the word is getting out about the Justice Dept investigation into the leaker. It doesn't get the attention the terrorist surveillance story gets but the noose is tightening. Going to be funny as heck watching Timmy Russert et al trying to demand 1st Amendment protection now that they petitioned argument when they thought Plame "Leak" was going to "Get Bush".
How's your eyes doing? Didn't you have more surgey this week?
The true meaning of Fitzmas - with a RAT it is always about ME ME ME ME . . . . The hell with what is right for this country and the Constitution.
What a PERFECT analogy! Thanks Peach - I'm printing that out - anyone can understand it.
The Leaker is not a whistle blower. Leaking classified info to the Press is NOT covered by the whistle blower statutes. Cbodt, I think, posted the statue when this first broke. This is just more noise from the DNC spin machine. They have a process for whistle blowing in NSA, it does NOT involved the DNC NY Times.
thanks for the compliment
no new surgery right now, giving the eye a chance to settle in a bit after the last stitches were removed last week, then we will schedule the cataract surgery in about 3 or 4 weeks as the next step.
I covered the high points on my eyes in posts 187 and 232.
Since the entire MSM is the propaganda arm of the DNC, why can't the GOP buy some time and create their own MTP?
Won't be the first time for Rocky - -Justice Department Probing Durbin, Rockefeller CIA Leak
You are exactly right. However, the Dims started calling him a whistle-blower as soon as the Risen story came out (I think Chuckie Schumer may have been the 1st to use it). Whistle-blowers in NSA, CIA and other agencies that handle classified documents/intelligence have a special process on the inside - -it does NOT include going to the press.
Here's the transcript of Allen and Reed on FNS this a.m. if anyone wants to read it and/or didn't get a chance to hear the show
Would that no be classed as an advertisement and not a current affairs program. Unfortunately MTP is a Dem advert without them paying for it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am a proud mamma! LOL!
Agree w the firing of the person.
