"Some people just can not stand to be told they aren't that important."The man is the vice President of the United States, and he was involved in a hunting accident.
If the press does not know, I don't know...and I have a right to know that my vice president was involved in a shooting accident.
Cheney is telling me that I am not that important, not the press.

The fact remains that that was then, this is now. Traditional interviews? Just how many of those do we get? And how many guest interviewees are worth the price of admission?
Well, that's why I was speaking in the hypothetical. Usually a presidential campaigner will have a sit-down traditional interview with a chosen network, they'll hype it up, yadda yadda. Well, I think Hillary getting interviewed by both Brit and Cavuto would be one for the ages, for a variety of reasons. It'll never happen, but hey.

You don't think that Fox is part of the mainstream media? Not the traditional Lockstep Liberal MSM.

But they didn't tell FOX either.
By the way...I deserve to know when my vice president has been involved in a shooting incident, the news being withheld from the press means that I don't get told either.

But you DO know Luis. You just didn't get to hear it first/immediately.
It's not like he was trying to HIDE it. It is just that there were other people to whom he had a moral obligation: First, the victim. Then the victim's family. Then the President. Then the residents of the community and local authorities, then the land owner, then you. It's not that you are not important, it is just that you are not the MOST important.
Having to wait means that it's not all about you...not that isn't about you at all. You know?
To: Luis Gonzalez
One more thing...the press was notified on Sunday morning. It just wasn't the self-important-inside-the-beltway press.
That is elitism at it's worst. Blech.

pollyannaish is a great name for you.
All that you described happened within one hour of the incident...what happened to the next thirteen hours?
Why was the press notified by the ranch owner?

Thank you. I will take that as a compliment. I wasn't always this way, but I chose it because it made my life better.
I don't particularly care what happened in the next thirteen hours. Frankly, it is none of my business.
I KNOW why the press was notified by the ranch owner. The Vice President covered that today. He had no press people with him, and since it was her land that was about to be invaded, and she had some experience in that area he let her handle it.
In my old fashioned, Pollyanna world...that is called being considerate. Laugh at it if you will, but I will stand by it. Other than a general accounting, this just isn't about us.
