"Acts of intolerance will not be tolerated at The Pennsylvania State University. "

A Statement from the Department of Redundancy Department...

We will not tolerate any tolerance for intolerance against any tolerated group of intolerant people...

I'll tell you a quick story. A couple years back we had one of these College-wide "diversity workshops." Attendance was not required, but my department head asked me to go as a favor to her. It was total BS, of course, but I felt comfortable enough to challenge the moderator about some of his comments and assertions. I did likewise at a follow up department meeting. Yes, some colleagues were perturbed at me, but everyone is still friendly.

If I weren't so offended, I'd be fed up....

It's a great school. My son is very happy there (in the Happy Valley). So far he's had good experiences. He came in from a Catholic HS and PSU periodically sends him literature relating to Catholic ministry and services available on campus. Intolerance in some form or another can be found on almost any campus today. It's truly a beautiful campus with something for everyone.

Peace is the period during which, the next revolution is planned.

And a bank robber is still loved by his mother, but that doesn't make his career a laudable goal.

Did you read some of those titles? ROFL. It's like 13 year olds trying to be "edgy" or "progressive" when all they really do is look like idiots. June Cleaver's xxxx? Masturbating over a protein shake? She xucks like she writes? Gads, what pathetic garbage.

Mike Adams is also right on the money about the angry poem. If you're a catholic and you're not offended, it's simply because the poem is so pathetic. It's trying very hard to offend.

Correct. Many college students are so thrilled that they can say f*** in print, they think the act of being as offensive as possible is creative.

Sounds like it's time for some poetic justice for Penn State's leaders.

I'm still trying to figure out why we're supposed to excuse the Aztecs for their human sacrifice because it was a valid part of their culture but not excuse the Spanish for wiping out the Aztecs even though that was a perfectly valid part of the culture of the Spaniards?

That's what I love about cultural and moral relativism and intolerance of intolerance. The whole philosophy collapses under the weight of itself if you actually apply it even-handedly rather than as a cynical way to promote a specific agenda.

Yeah, they told us you can even call and get an escort, and my daughter is a great kid (straight As and no vices unless you consider NASCAR a vice). She really liked PSU and even wants to get into Big Blue Band (trombone). We have a couple of other college visits (Oklahoma, and North Carolina State), but PSU made a big impression on her. I like it that she'll be relatively close to home (Dayton, OH), and I believe there are some ski areas around State College.

We have what I'd call a modest ski area about 10 minutes from campus. It's very scenic with one huge run and several trails and smaller hills. My 6th grade daughter goes there a lot with her school ski club.
