Air America Radio host Franken heard the news about KKNS, he said: “It's a shock. It doesn't make any sense to me. Our ratings were great. We were beating Rush Limbaugh. I was wiping the floor with Rush.”

Really? AAR shows up with a "audience too small to measure" asterisk on the Arbitron ratings in my area. Check yours out. Go here and use the drop-down list to check out their ratings for your city. They also run 10 PSAs for every paid ad here.

Out of a population of over 57,000. Dozens!

Well, when you factor in East Missoula and Orchard Homes, part of the entire Missoula metro area it's about 67,500. :) It's the second largest city ahead of Great Falls (56,690) and behind the largest city Billings (89,847).

JACK-FM is actually not a bad format. There's a station north of the border in Canada that I can pick up, and I've got it in the preset of the car radio. That station used to be "classic rock".

Michael Savage airs after Barberry. Savage is “one of the most obnoxious conservatives that you can find on the dial.

I'm not sure Savage is a conservative.

When best-selling author and Air America Radio host Franken heard the news about KKNS, he said: “It's a shock. It doesn't make any sense to me. Our ratings were great. We were beating Rush Limbaugh. I was wiping the floor with Rush.”

It ought to be pretty easy to get someone else to pick it up if this is so.

I sure am! I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Dave Berg must be feeling pretty elated by now. LOL!

"retailers who flocked to The Trail held KKNS at arm's reach, Cowan said. Company representatives told him they feared alienating customers."

well that doesn't sound like a "liberal" town, as Franken claimed.

Whats there, a college full of out-of-town liberals who inflate the share but don't spend money??

So many one-liners, so little time -- man,

I'm bummed. It sounds like censorship to me.

How can this be? I keep hearing that Air [SC]America's hardcore leftist ideology is representative of mainstream America. This obviously is the workings of some sort of VRWC. I bet Karl Rove and Halliburton are behind it.

The first amendment guarantees your right to say what you want, Stanley. It doesn't guarantee that anyone will listen. Hence, Air America.

“I think it's extremely dangerous to be in broadcasting and to have a political agenda,” he said. “The reality for us is we're much more interested in what's going to create success in the markets where we operate.”

Indeed, when this approach is adopted, liberty will be close behind.

Then they definitely shouldn't read Instapundit tonight, or they'll be downright suicidal. He's linking to a blog that's speculating they're on thin ice with their NYC affiliate.
