Slobodan Milosevic Found Dead in His Cell

Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslav leader who orchestrated the Balkan wars of the 1990s and was on trial for war crimes, was found dead in his prison cell at the U.N. detention center near The Hague, the U.N. tribunal said Saturday. He was 65.

Fox News said he appeared to have died from natural causes. One reporter mentioned Milosevic had a history of heart problems.

Those people "that died in battle" had all civillian clothes. Most of them had holes in the back of their skulls. It is ridicolous to discuss this to an end.

Some crazy people in Germany also lied about the Holocaust and it did not help. Face it - those Serbians who were involved into those actions are criminals who lost their right to live. This includes Milosevic.

BTW - Most of Serbians are decent people who have to live with the shame now that those beasts came out of their society. I do not want to insult innocent Serbs or Serbian people who acted with honour and humanity.

They need to drive a stake through him. It would be better if done during his lifetime, but "better late than never".

"The former Croatian Serb leader Milan Babic, who ... gave evidence against former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic"

This is interesting, does anyone know of a link to his actual testimony?

Wondering if there was some little item in there that didn't quite go against milo..?

That's interesting about you saying they had on civilian clothes, when another person who was here - "Ronly Bonly Jones" - claimed they were wearing Bosnian Muslims uniforms and had identity cards, when we asked him how he knew all these unidentified bodies were Muslims.

He died in a UN detention center. Did the UN treat him all right. Did they force feed him. Did they feed him enough. Were his rights considered. Did he get routine lawyer visits. If he got sick and the UN didn't tend to his needs sufficiently, can we call that torture, since the definition of torture has been defined downward?

Excellent rant!

Many of the "innocent Iraqis" killed by US troops also had civilian clothes.

There is no difference if crimes were convited by muslims or Serbs. If we get hold of beasts of the muslim side they have to be punished just like their ill colleagues on the Serbian side.

This does not change the fact that innocent 7000 Muslims were executed by a Serbian militia in Srebrenica.

More Srebrenica victims found in Bosnia mass grave

By Maja Zuvela

BLJECEVO, Bosnia, Sep 10 (Reuters) -- Forensic experts say they
have found the remains of dozens of Muslims massacred at Srebrenica
during Bosnia's ethnic war in a mass grave near the eastern town.

Team member Ismet Music said 103 complete or incomplete bodies
had so far been exhumed from the grave on a hill above the village
of Bljecevo, with clothes and other belongings of the victims
scattered on the surface. Documents found at the site showed
they were from Srebrenica.

He is a member of the missing persons commission of the
Muslim-Croat federation, one of two autonomous Bosnian regions
to emerge from the 1992-95 conflict.

"We have found a lot of clothes ... that indicate these were
civilians of different ages who tried to escape through the woods
after the fall of Srebrenica," he said standing by the grave.

Up to 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed in three days after
Bosnian Serb forces overran the town in July 1995, Europe's worst
massacre since World War II.

The UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague has indicted wartime
Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and his military commander
Ratko Mladic for genocide in Srebrenica.

Two of the world's most wanted men both remain at large.

Nine years after the war, mass graves holding victims of ethnic
cleansing and other atrocities are still found regularly.

More than 16,000 people remain unaccounted for.

Music said the bodies unearthed in Bljecevo had been moved from
another site in an attempt to cover up the killings.

A separate grave some 20 metres away yielded 366 complete or incomplete
remains of Muslims killed in the Srebrenica area when it was exhumed
last month.

The two sites were found near a cemetery officially opened by
former U.S. President Bill Clinton last year, where 1,327 identified
Srebrenica victims have been buried so far.

Another Muslim-led forensics team said on Friday they had recovered
109 bodies from a site in north-western Bosnia, believed to be Muslims
killed in Serb detention camps in 1992.

I had forgotten Clinton was supposed to testify.

The AP article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11777120/) notes that milosevic's death comes at a time when he was waiting for a court decision to call clinton to testify.

In light of the fact that Milosevic had been "shredding" the incompetent Hague prosecutors for the past 3 years, it strikes me his death comes at a very convenient time for the court to avoid calling clinton to the stand to be made a fool of by Milosevic and to avoid further humiliation of the court by Milosevic. It has been looking very much like few if any of their phoney war crimes charges were going to stick. He (Milosevic) may even have ended up placing clinton in the war crimes defendant chair where he belongs. Milosevic was just too smart for them. They did not want to lose face. They did not want to let him go alive.

Also, the number of ignoramuses posting to this thread who still think of Milosevic as the "villan" in the Balkan wars is appalling. To have access to the internet and FREEREPUBLIC and still remain so ignorant of the history, the injustice and the betrayal of the Christian peoples of Eastern Europe by the heathen West is appalling.

It is now official---more detainees have died at UN detention centers than at GITMO.

Yes, and on a percentage ratio it's much worse. Zero of 1000 in Gitmo, 1 of 5 (or something) in the Hague.

Dear Mr. Milosivich:

I hope you experience in the place that you went in your death the same pain, torture and misery you perpetrated on your countrymen.

Whilst Milosevic certainly wasn't a saint, but the Bosnian muslims were the main villains as far as I can see, and the Bosnian muslim leader Izetbegovic personally commanded units of Arab/islamic Al-Qaeda fighters who committed many atrocities against Bosnian Croats and Bosnian Serbs.
