Eric Haney, a retired command sergeant major of the U.S. Army, was a founding member of Delta Force, the military's elite covert counter-terrorist unit.
Q: What's your assessment of the war in Iraq? A: Utter debacle. But it had to be from the very first.

Obviously most do, but certainly not all. I've talked to to at least one returning Iraq vet who thought Iraq was a mistake, and he did not strike me as a partisan... he even claims to have voted for Bush in 2000. I've also talked to a retired career army officer that felt similarly. The point I am trying to make is that not all of these people are partisan, and if we wish to educate people, we need to understand their reasons for believing as they do. Just slapping the partisan label on these people is not enough when trying to shore up support for the war among the civilian population.
"His foolish comments about Saddam not being a threat, civil war, and how Americans "dont care about Iraqi deaths" speak volumes about his intellect."
Yes, not to mention his partisan agenda.
Yes, I am calling Haney a pantywaist.
First, I will not claim to have done anything close to what Haney has done, but I have done my share of balls-to-the -walls things, including in the military. So I am no stranger to danger.
Second, I have served with and shared comradeship with men who have done what Haney has and in some cases more and they would share the opinion: Haney is a Pantywaist for selling out all of his fellow teamers and his country in this manner. I added the "fag in a foxhole" comment because it is the only reason I could think of for someone like Haney to go over to the darkside and support Kerry and Crew.
In his book "Inside Delta Force" Eric Haney makes the claim that "in 1981 we knew there were POW's still alive in Vietnam". Sorry for my ignorance, but is this an undisputed fact? Certainly I have heard the rumors and seen the Hollywood movies etc. Is this really true?
