Yout think that becasue I disagree with you on how well the Pres presented himself, that I exposed myself for a fraud and actually didn't see his "fighting back" last week? Now that's funny. Can no one here admit that the Pres. cannot articulate worth a damn especially for a POTUS and he hasn't changed in the last week.... now I'm ROFLMAO.

Bush is fighting back, as are many within his Administration. But they will never control the media (nor would I want them to), which unfortunately does powerfully influence what news (read: opinion) is presented and how it is presented. Yes, the bully pulpit can help, and Dubya could take lessons from the Great Communicator, but the main problem isn't with Dubya.
I am speaking of the president's comunication and public relation skills overall. And last week, I did not see much of a change in his presentation. Not enough to say, "Wow the president is fighting back" That opinion doesn't make me ignorant or a fraud.
I do pay attention to whent he Pres. Speaks, I always do when I can. And I laugh at the MSM when I do rarely watch them because they don't give him a chance...but the President is not fighting back (very well), no matter how well he spoke last week.
I mean.......NO one watching him speak last week would say that. And the fact that you DID say it made it look like you hadn't seen him at all.
To the point of whether or not he's fighting back........you may want him to get down and dirty, but he won't. He's more gracious than most of us are, but to say that he hasn't been fighting back, is just plain and simple wrong.
btw, it was HIS decision, against advice to release the Saddam tapes. The facts are coming out without his saying a word. THAT, groove........is fighting back.
and I agree that the main problem isn't with Dubya. It the MSM that he is having to fight and I merely said that he is losing that battle with them..
Yes he could learn quite a bit from Reagan's presentation style. But just because he gave a few decent speeches with "grace and intelligent answers", in one week, does not constitue a "fighting back" label. I still disagree that his speeches last week were graceful or well communicated. But a fraud am not...
But in the long run, are the people (in any great numbers) getting the message?
Okay so he may not have stumbled over himself as much as usual last week. But he's still not a great comunicator, and that makes a world of difference in trying to sway public opinion. It seems to me that last weeks speeches were okay, but they were no public opinion shifting remarks or great new plans that were so grand that they got natioanl media attention or public attnetion. None to turn the tide of public opinion in any of his speaking and definitely no grand differences in his speaking than normal.
All this is my opinion, but I do keep up with what he is saying and doing, and I compare it to the load megaphones that the press has, and who gets believed by the public? The Pres. or the MSM? And I know the the President can sway public opinion to the truth if he just fought back, and I mean fighting back harder than a few speeches and conferences in one week. Get out an around the country like he's campaigning and give motivational speeches about the WOT on a megaphone to crowds in cities nationwide, and it will get covered by the media.... and yes I am an armchair presidential advisor.... that's a joke, so nobody cut me down for typing that....

If you can't tell I like to kid around a lot, I have a sense of humor but I don't like to be called ignorant (even if I am) but can take it with a grain of salt. I'm just typing this, 'cause I know there will be responses to my idiotic rant that is emotionless maybe... but I value you all's opinion, and don't want you all to think I ran away. After 9/11, no one will be able to convince me that President Bush has ANY problems with real communication. The difference is that some of us (you?) require slickness in your definition of communication skills. I don't.
The MSM will never show the President as he really is. They had to after 9/11, but the best thing they can do to make people hate him (which is their only goal) is to hide him, and show only soundbites that back up their template.
Ask the people in Cleveland or Wheeling if he communicated well. Ask them if they got the message.

This is exactly what he is doing. He only gets covered locally. The MSM continues their virtual ignore policy.
It isn't slickness it is presenting your case and keeping people reinforced to believe in you and your ideas. This is where the President has failed. Is it fair? No, but since his enemies are not going to put their tails between their legs and run away in shame as they should if they had any President Bush is going to have to keep fighting back and motivating people. Motivation is important and it doesn't mean you have to lie or cheat, it means you sell yourself and your accomplishments in the best light. The President has a lot to be proud of Iraq is not falling apart and almost every milestone set in the plan for Iraq has been met to date, our economy is growing at an outstanding rate and unemployment is at record lows. The President's no child left behind policies have been a success even though I believe spending more money on education was unwarrented he has accomplished the raising of standards as was needed. Also the President's energy policy has been key to the resurgence of coal and in states like WV miners are being hired faster than they can be found. There is a lot to be proud of and that is what the President needs to remind the public of. Negativity is like a virus, people tend to believe the worst about things even if it is not true.
This President has faced the worst unjustified onslaught of any because of one thing the acquisition of power by the Democratic party. This same party gave President Clinton a get out of jail free card after his White House pulled the FBI files on political enemies, trumped up charges to fire the Travel Office staff, used his office to obtain sexual favors from underlings, ran the White House like a frat house, Vince Foster's suspicious death, White Water, Somalia, Bosnia, etc. We could go on probably week by week and identify REAL consistent political corruption but all that didn't matter.
Now when our soldiers need the support of the American people to do a job that was long over due after the most serious attack on American soil in our history the left have been let overwhelm the trenches and conduct a pysops war undeterred in what is becoming the second most serious terrorist attack on American soil by legions of traitors and cowards, who express open allegiance with the enemies of liberty, are not just attacking our physical wellbeing but the very soul of the country and the ability to do what is right in the face of a clear and present evil.
