Maybe he wasn't talking about the legal disclosure but was talking about actual classified "leaks" which were numerous at that time?

Joe said that he didn't find anything....but he also qualified it by saying: If they did seek or get yellow cake, they got it illegally.

What other leaks was Fitzgerald investigating?

Asked at a June 10, 2004, news conference if he stood by his pledge to fire anyone found to have leaked Plame's name, Bush answered, "Yes. And that's up to the U.S. attorney to find the facts."

"It's best people wait until the investigation is complete before you jump to conclusions. I don't know all the facts. I want to know all the facts," Bush said Monday. "I would like this to end as quickly as possible. If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

Seems pretty clear that his comments related to Plame and not some other leak.

I believe that the President knows exactly how the press will respond to every word that he says. I believe that his words were carefully chosen to encourage the press to look at the facts in the case and give Libby a fair shot at justice.,p>Months, years down the road...when this investigation is completed...Bush's words will still be applicable but not so for some members in the media and Congress. They will be shown to be the fools that they are.

Bush said exactly what a president should have said. It also says very little. ;)

Apparently Bush could have saved Libby from the whole process by identifying himself as the source of the disclosure.

Bush's words will still be applicable but not so for some members in the media and Congress. They will be shown to be the fools that they are.

Apparently Bush could have saved Libby from the whole process by identifying himself as the source of the disclosure.

Bush also said he wasn't familiar with all the facts in the "case." It makes no sense to rush in, guns blazing, until you know the extent of the story and accusations being made. What he did say, is most appropriate in any situation.

"As a madman who throws firebrands, arrows and death, so is a man who tricks his neighbor and says, 'but I was only joking.'"

Bush said exactly what he needed to say for this situation. While he certainly didn't hand his head over to them on a silver platter...his comments weren't deceitful, either.

People just hear what they want to hear regardless of what is actually said.

Its sounding a lot like it depends on what the meaning of is, is. Didn't work for me back when and doesn't work for me now.

I guess you missed my final point. People will hear what they want to hear sometimes. (shrugs) It's clear to me.

A leak is an unauthorized release of information. If the Pres authorized it, IT AIN'T A LEAK.

Now the Stone Age Press are Super Patriots again, worried about classified information?? My head is beginning to spin from this game!

Leaking the TSA info was ok, but the Prez declassifying is treason?
