I went to Santa Ana today on my lunch hour to take pictures. The media was there, with several members making a sincere effort to get the crowd size right. One even asked me how many people I thought were there. The reports later put the number at 500 but I would d have guessed more.
The crowd was very low key. None of the usual Orange County Suspects were there. Note that most of the American flags were the same size, passed out by organizers.
The plan was to just take pictures, but I heard a British reporter and I has to ask why he left out the part that they were illegal, and a pretty lively discussion ensued. At one point I was surrounded by about 100 illegal supporters.
I asked them a a few questions. I am a hard working, good person, just trying to feed my family, if I am late to work, why can't I take the car pool lane? What laws can I break?
I asked them how they knew all 12 million illegals where here to work? Couldn't some of them be criminals? And if so how many? No one had an answer.
The reporter said they were doing the work Americans won't do, and I asked, "and is that because they are Hispanic or because they are illegal? If it because they are Hispanic, you are racist and promoting a second class of citizens, which did not seem to work too well in France and if it is because they are illegal and you make them illegal then who will do the work American don't want to do? Are we going to have to import 12 million more people?
He was very good natured and repeated over and over "Well got to admit you have a good point there."
He did say we should have closed the door 10 years ago and I told him, "Believe me, I am angrier at my own government than anyone."

We are witnessing a social climate change that has gone too far. It will never be reversed or corrected.
You will soon be living in 'LA' California or Aztlan. Whatever is is in 10 more years won't be pretty and won't be speaking your language.
By this Friday there will be no Mexican Flags visible in their civil disturbances. I have worked these kinds of things in the past, the asskickers will be out in force and ensure that the public presentation of these demonstrations meets the desired perception.
Seriously, thanks for taking the time out to do this. Their side is as much controlled by hype as our can be. This business about Immigrants = Criminals, separating families and arresting priests and social volunteers who hand out food is doing a fine job of stirring up the masses.

And Ted Kennedy says 98% of Illegal Immigrants are employed, and even if they were, if my employees were taking days off to protest, they wouldnt be employed anymore. (granted I would never hire Illegals in the first place)

I can count on one hand the number of thin Mexican women I've seen in the numerous rally photos.
I heard diabetes was rampant among Mexicans- now I see why.
Any news on whether schools were shutting down? I spoke to some teachers from Phoenix today at predominantly Latino schools, and they just closed their doors for the day because no one was going to be there.
Pretty pathetic.

Would "Anglo and Proud" on a country music station sticker cause an outrage?
Having lived in Southern California for some years, it's very rare that you see a thin Mexican anywhere near an urban area. Very rare.
You'll see them if you go out in the fields, but that's about it.

I agree. Janitors shouldn't have to find a criminal labor force undercutting the going rate for the position and avoiding criminal background checks that those who work in public schools and corporate offices would face.

I live in Southern Illinois and the one's I see are all "chunky" because the women don't work-they just have babies and their husbands work at local factories.

Pretty sort of thing too. My company's "flag" is so boring. Lets see, logo in the middle and change the company color from Teal to that nice Blue. Be a real eye catcher.
