I don't dislike people just because they're old; I think they ought to be regarded on individual merit.
But I can tell when grouchy old people are just grouchy old people -- and not the icons of American culture and society the media makes them out to be. In the days before extended lifespans, such people were just regarded as senile, bad company, and not honored for their flatulence.
many offshoring arrangements involve the fired US employee having to train their offshore replacements, under threat of losing exit pay and whatever severance and exit benefits they are entitled to.
Abusive people are just abusive people -- and rightly shouldn't be in the public eye.
The hatred of Helen Thomas and all those uglies are not cute just because they're still alive although they look like they should be dead. There should be some other qualifying process.
Maybe they could be smart.

What group? You mean Boomers? I don't know where you live, but just about all the Boomers I know are very conservative socially...even most of the Dems. The lib press and the rest of the uberliberal media have tried to convince America and themselves that the average Boomer was a combination Woodstock/hippie/Berkeley/leftist druggie. The facts are completely opposite from the myth. As I noted in a previous post, a much higher percentage of Boomers voted for Bush in the last two prez elections than did the younger generations. Most of the young people I know hate Bush. Most people are products of their times. We'll see if the succeeding generations turn out to be conservative or liberal. By my observations, it doesn't look good for conservatives.

Yeah , but one is a mechanical engineer and he other is a microbiologist . I'm sure they will make a buck somewhere (even if it means leaving the states ) Between the two of them they can open up their own bioweapons company .
There is a lot of upside to it. I can't wait for the hippies, yippies, 1960s radicals and other scum to be gone from my workplace. Of course, I hope their contemporaries who are real Americans hang out until they are in their 80s! LOL!
They'll spend lots of it. Bring in on and let me be on the receiving end! :)
