A Day Without Illegal Aliens? It's a Start!
Human Events ^ | April 27 2006 | Mac Johnson

Posted on 04/27/2006 8:27:37 AM PDT by Reagan Man

May 1 is going to be “A Day Without Illegal Aliens.”

This is supposed to frighten you.

Why? Because you are an American -- weak, pampered, spoiled and allegedly incapable of taking care of yourself. You need the illegal alien servant class just to survive.

Those who want amnesty for immigration criminals -- illegal aliens, pandering politicians, ethnic grievance agitators and the politically correct media -- have swallowed their own propaganda and believe that the American economy is totally dependent for its greatness on unskilled illegal labor and the corrupt underground economy it fosters.

So on May 1, the ridiculous, old socialist “workers’ holiday” known overseas as “May Day,” they intend to punish the American people, and intimidate Congress into passing a “guest worker” amnesty, by marching in the streets, boycotting American stores, and shutting down the corrupt businesses that have illegally employed them.

What a mistake. This will not paralyze the American economy -- but it will paralyze the underground economy and the greedy businesses that profit from it.

If you have ever wondered which local businesses hire illegal aliens and which ones hire legal residents and play by the rules, then on Monday, May 1, you will finally know.

Those businesses still functioning on May 1, dubbed “A Day Without Illegal Aliens” by the scheme’s organizers, will be the honest ones. They’ll be the ones who hire only legal immigrants and American citizens, obey our labor laws, collect their employee’s taxes, and pay their workers a fair legal wage.

The ones without employees will be the crooks, the corrupt schemers that have fueled the chaos on our insecure borders by providing no-questions-asked jobs to anyone willing to sneak into our country, work off the books and in the shadows, and accept substandard pay and conditions that no American could be legally made to tolerate.

That’s why movements have popped up all over the country to use this fabulous opportunity to fight illegal labor and the crooked system of human smuggling, document forgery, tax evasion, and sweat shop wages that have grown up around it.

I originally proposed calling May 1 “Conservative Shopping Day,” since so many of my fellow grassroots conservatives were disgusted with our open borders, illegal labor, and the march towards amnesty in Congress. But this goes well beyond one political movement.

Almost everyone I have spoken with -- conservatives, liberals, moderates, independents, Democrats, Republicans, legal immigrants, and native-born citizens alike -- are disgusted with the current widespread corruption of our economy and laws by illegal labor. They are disgusted in no small part because illegal labor is a national corruption that is openly condoned by the leadership of both political parties, who are much more eager to harvest campaign contributions from crooked business interests and votes from amnestied immigration criminals than they are to enforce our laws, secure our borders and protect the wages of working Americans.

In the spirit of putting aside partisan politics and joining together with all Americans that are opposed to illegal labor and demand that our laws be enforced by government, I declare Monday, May 1 -- the threatened “Day Without Illegal Aliens” -- to be AMERICAN SHOPPING DAY.

It is a day to fight for the rule of law, without having to beg our elected “leaders” to listen to their own voters. The strategy is simple and direct:

GET OUT AND SUPPORT THOSE BUSINESSES THAT PLAY BY THE RULES.

This will not only reward the law-abiding and allow one to avoid the corrupt, but it will also send a powerful message.

The planned boycott of American stores and businesses by illegal aliens and their enablers is designed to demonstrate the “purchasing power” of illegal workers and to cause a frightening one-day shock to American retail sales. It is being adopted and echoed by foreign supporters of illegal immigration as well. In Mexico, a nation that has become dependent upon the billions of dollars that illegal workers inside the United States send home each year, it is being called “Nothing Gringo Day.”

Through this contrivance, the illegal labor lobby hopes to appear more powerful and to frighten retailers into supporting amnesty, which is being dishonestly called a “temporary guest worker program” in Washington.

By making a point to do as much shopping as possible on May 1, American Shopping Day, Americans can stop this scam in its tracks. If the issue is to be decided by a demonstration of “purchasing power,” then let’s demonstrate the purchasing power of 300 million legal American residents. The purchasing power of 11 million illegal workers and their bosses and sympathizers will pale in comparison.

American Shopping Day: Five Things You Can Do to Fight Back

1. Buy, buy, buy. Make your regular purchases for the week or month, but make them all on May 1. Nobody needs to go broke, just to buy on one particular day. If you’ve been putting off a purchase, put it off no more. Besides, you know the clerks will all speak English if you shop on May 1. No more painful pantomime just to find out where the paper towels are.

2. Eat out. Contrary to pro-amnesty propaganda, most food service workers are American citizens -- but these workers do suffer much more from illegal labor wage competition than most. Get out and treat yourself to a nice meal -- one that serves up a big steamy bowl of justice for a change.

3. Take notice of which businesses can still function. These are the ones playing by the rules and deserve long-term support. Come back again and again. Avoid those that mysteriously close or are obviously understaffed.

4. Tell your friends. Send then this message or make up you own. Call it whatever you want and credit whomever you wish. All that matters is that people get out and shop.

5. Tell your congressman how much you enjoyed a day with illegal aliens. Write or call; it is one of the greatest powers you have. Elected officials figure that if you care enough to call on an issue, you care enough to vote on it. You can e-mail your senators and your congressman. And you can also call your senators and your congressman.

American Shopping Day -- Monday, May 1. A unique opportunity to do something good by doing something fun.

We're gonna be in trouble on May 1!!!!

According to McCain the illegals earn $100,000 a year picking lettuce and the drunkard Kennedy said illegal families pay more than $80,000 in taxes a year.

That's some serious money...

/sarcasm

I want to know where those congressional crackheads are getting their numbers. It's obvious the political leeches in BOTH parties are so out of touch with the average American that they need to be removed from power.

"If you have ever wondered which local businesses hire illegal aliens and which ones hire legal residents and play by the rules, then on Monday, May 1, you will finally know."

http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/?p=270

The Department of Homeland Security announced Thursday that it would be implementing a new, revolutionary, cutting-edge, state-of-the-art approach to the illegal immigration problem. What is this “new” approach? Believe it or not, the department declared that the U.S. would now be cracking down on employers who “knowingly and recklessly” hire illegal aliens. In other words, they are going to try a “new” program called “enforcing existing laws.” Guess what? It works!

May 1st would be a good time to see if Homeland Security's "state-of-the-art" approach really works. (Ill believe it when I see it.)

GET OUT AND SUPPORT THOSE BUSINESSES THAT PLAY BY THE RULES.

I wonder if this is the right strategy? I'm kind of hoping that the boycott is fabulously successful and it brings the businesses that rely on illegals (as laborers or as customers) to their knees.

I'm thinking that the more damage done by the boycott, the bigger the backlash. It is tempting to actively support the boycott to ensure a bigger backlash.

I saw a poster on another forum note that he would split the difference. He figured he would support the economy by buying a large Mexican flag and he would support the boycott by prominently waving it in front of TV cameras. I thought that was a pretty good idea that would fuel the backlash.

I agree with both of you.

I was planning on doing all my shopping on Monday, but I never thought about the backlash and by not shopping it would be helping it be bigger.

I think this whole "day" is going to backfire big time on these stinkin' illegals.

It just makes me sick how the government just lets it all happen and worse, makes excuses for it to continue.

WE DON'T NEED THEM!!!

I have so many purchases to make on May Day. I have been saving things up. I'll spend more on May 1, than I have in the last 3 months combined (mortgage aside).

To: Reagan Man; everyone

I have to point out something.

Although you may be able to tell which businesses hire illegals with the lack of personnel they have that day, that is overall NOT a reliable tool for verification.

Where I work, there are a LOT of LEGAL hispanic workers who are supposed to boycott work here in solidarity with their illegals friends.

Imagine that...you are legal, and you have a decent job, and you tell your employer to go pound sand to march with people who don't have a legitimate cause or even belong here.

I hope a lot of them get fired for job abandonment.

So, the moral of the story is, I am not boycotting a business because of who doesn't show up at work, I will boycott them because they allow themselves to be held hostage to this group of people.

I am looking for another job too. The attitdue of the hispanics here is an "in your face" open discrimination. Although the company goes above and beyond to make sure the workers are legal, they may look the other way on May 1, and that will be slapping the face of everyone who DOES go to work.

About the only thing that will affect me May 1, is I may not be able to get fast food - I'm comforatable packing a lunch. This rally will backfire IMO.

Looks like CARGILL her in Minneapolis is admitting they hire illegals? Nothing will happen to them I'm sure.

"Minneapolis-based agribusiness giant Cargill Inc. said it will close seven meatpacking plants so workers can participate."

The illegals and their abetting side kicks are trying to ruin the economy by doing this. If no one buys it'll show how much the illegal entrants are "necessary for our economy."

That's why we BUY. It shows they're NOT necessary to our economy. America can just deal with it if they're gone.

Yeah...and these businesses that are supporting this protest better think hard about what they're doing. May 1st may be about immigration, but if this turns out to be successful, the next march may about wages and a better standard of living.

I can only imagine the ideas running through some heads as thoughts of organization and unionization take fruition at the site of "millons of workers" protesting in the streets. These people better be careful what they wish for.

What I plan on doing on May 1 is taking pictures of the Marxist supporters and sending them to my congresscritter. I am going to let them know that MY country is being taken over by Marxists posing as Democrats and what do they plan to do about it.

I am also writing a letter to the editor thanking them for bringing Illegal Aliens to the forefront of the news and asking why they aren't calling them illegal.

On Monday May 1st, while Latino activists are encouraging other Latinos to walk out on their jobs and boycott spending in any Southland businesses, we want you to do the exact opposite. SPEND, SPEND, AND SPEND!

To reward you and your financial patriotism, KFI AM 640 and the John and Ken show will be reimbursing you for your legal citizen-spending spree.

On Monday May 1st, fax or email a copy of a receipt for something you purchased on May 1st 2006 and it will go into a drawing. Twice an hour during their show (3-7PM) John and Ken will go into the special “winds of change booth” that will blow the receipts around allowing John and Ken to choose just one.

The winners will be reimbursed up to $640 per receipt.

Fax RECEIPTS To (818) 260-9968
OR
Email To Promotions@KFIAM640.com

So put your money where your mouth is in The Great American Spend-a-Lot!

PROPOSAL TO SOLVE CALIFORNIA'S ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM IN ONE YEAR - "Busing the Border Busters"
DFU | 8-17-05 | DFU

Posted on 08/17/2005 3:19:51 PM PDT by doug from upland

DRAFT PROPOSAL

ATTN: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Date: 8-17-05
From: Doug from Upland

The following proposal is hereby submitted to save the State of California.

SPECIFICS:

1. Buy a fleet of 200 used buses at an average cost of $20,000.
2. Each bus makes 4 round trips in a day, 5 days a week, delivering illegal aliens back to their beloved country. Each trip will transport 50 illegal aliens. Cities from all over California are responsible to get them down to Southern California.
3. Insurance companies will donate the policies necessary.
4. Drivers will donate time. (I will do it twice a month.)
5. Mechanics donate their skills to keep the buses running. Los Pep Boys donate the spare parts.
6. Oil companies donate the fuel.
7. Conservative attorneys donate legal time to fight the ACLU. On each trip are two ACLU observers. When they go for a pit stop after the drop off in Mexico, the bus takes off and leaves them behind. That is a huge additional benefit to the program.
8. Tire companies donate tires as they wear out.
9. Money will be raised to administer the program by advertising on the sides of the buses.

In one year, we will have delivered 10,400,000 people back to their point of origin. If they want to come back, they can fill out the paperwork and wait their turn in line.

At the end of the year, we will sell off the used buses and give the money to the Boy Scouts.

The following is a list of many of Nations Bus used vehicles currently in inventory. Simply click the make/model for more detailed specifications and images. All configurations can be changed if required. Please call for new vehicles in stock.

How serious are they? Well they're practicing "catch and release" right now according to news articles. Perhaps they think we'll be appeased if we know some illegals are being arrested. What they failed to consider is that news sources are "outing" them for lack of planning when the illegals are released shortly after being apprehended.

"Perhaps they think we'll be appeased if we know some illegals are being arrested."

ICE isn't after illegals...they're after those who hire them. As more employers get busted and fined for hiring illegals and word starts getting around, less jobs will be available for illegals.

Report companies who hire illegals and watch to see if there's a follow-up. If there is, you'll know ICE is finally doing its job and Chertoff is making good on his word. If there's no follow-up, you'll know that the general public is being placated.

If only it were going to work that way. They are threatening here (in LA) to stop the rest of us getting to work. I take the train and work downtown. If they get in my way, they will get an earfull.

" It's obvious the political leeches in BOTH parties are so out of touch with the average American that they need to be removed from power."

You know, I don't think it is so much that they're out of touch. I think it is that they just don't care. They've got "more important" concerns, like serving their own agendas, soliciting campaign contributions, butressing their own dwindling voter base, voting themselves more money and perks and generally feathering their own nests on the backs of the people they "serve" and rubbing elbows with others who are as drunk on power as they are.

I'm thinking that the more damage done by the boycott, the bigger the backlash

The problem is, "our" politicians are just waiting for an excuse to pass some kind of amnesty. If real US citizens shop because we prefer an environment without the exploited, non-English speaking underclass, it sends the message that the SOBs who break our laws to be here, then attempt to disrupt our economy are actually unnecessary.

Then, the politicians lack excuses about sending the invaders home.

Where I work, there are a LOT of LEGAL hispanic workers who are supposed to boycott work here in solidarity with their illegals friends.

If "our" government gets real, they'll lose their jobs and their green cards, and sent home for good.

I hope someone starts a thread tomorrow night or on May 2, identifying all the businesses that closed down for the day in their city. I will be driving around with my pencil and paper. Also, check out www.buyblue.org before you spend your hard earned money - let your cash go to the businesses that deserve it. Happy May Day!!

Call a Cop because they can protest but if they block your way for going about your business they've broke the law.

?So on May 1, the ridiculous, old socialist “workers’ holiday” known overseas as “May Day,”

This clearly identifies those who are really behind this fiasco! What part of against the laws don't these people understand??????

I got a better idea: how about making May 5th the "Cinco De Mayo without Gringos?"

The margarita blenders will go silent!

Like I been sayin', this is no longer an illegal alien problem, it's a Mexican problem...Apparently a huge number of American citizens with Mexican ancestry are intent on destroying this country as well as the illegals are...

That is true.

Aslo, I wanted to point out that a lot of hispanics are shopping today. I don't believe this economy crap.

They won't shop tomorrow because they already got what they needed over the weekend.

BUT....tomorrow is the first of the month. Isn't that when welfare checks come? They will be at check cashing places wiring taxpayer money south of frontera internacional.

Dirtbags.

And tell those you patronize on that day. Let them know how nice it is not to have illegal invader's children running amok in the stores.
