Tancredo Rips Government’s Spying of Minutemen

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressmen Tom Tancredo (R-CO) decried a recently-disclosed U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) practice of tipping off the Mexican military to the location of Minutemen volunteers. According to a story in this morning’s Inland Daily Bulletin, CBP notifies the Mexican government of when and where the Minutemen are planning to monitor the border and if violence is used by the Minutemen against illegal aliens. There has not been one verified instance of Minutemen volunteers using violence against illegal aliens.

“The Mexican military doesn’t exactly have a ‘good government’ reputation. The Border Patrol has documented more than two hundred incursions into the U.S by the Mexican military, and Texas sheriffs even apprehended Mexican government vehicles that were used to ferry drug runners across the border. By tipping off Mexico’s military to the Minutemen’s location, the U.S. government is asking for trouble,” said Tancredo.

“Heavily-armed military officials stationed only yards from civilians are at least intimidating. I can only surmise that the Border Patrol bureaucrats’ spying is meant to have a chilling effect on the Minutemen’s recruitment of more volunteers,” said Tancredo.

“The Minutemen haven’t been accused of breaking the law. Quite the contrary—they have gone out of their way to aid law enforcement and ensure the safety of our border. The U.S. government has no grounds upon which to stifle the Minutemen’s constitutional right to organize,” Tancredo concluded. “I want to know the legal basis for CBP informing a foreign government of the activities of private citizens who are obeying the law.”

The man made a statement earlier on this thread that talking impeachment and a few other things won't be tolerated.

Ever since Jim posted that the story is false I have been waiting for confirmation on that. Maybe it will come in the next few days, but it sure would be nice for those who are somehow "in the know" to cite evidence for their claims. As you noted, the testimony of the Minutemen indicates otherwise.

Me too. I'm still waiting. (#376)

Thanks for the heads up. Bummer, I was getting ready to declare my lawn as its own sovereign nation, and begin an insurrection ;^).

Jim accept my expressed admiration for you and John and your achievements. I want to see this forum grow into something bigger. However we are being held back by a disruptive force that is at work here.

Jim to hear sinkspur talk, threatening to get people banned and always dropping your name one would think that you take work direction from him.

Both Dane and Sinkspur make one personal attack after another, they hi-jack threads and try to intimidate or provoke posters. This tactic often leads to a thread being pulled. We can't tell, because you will not show aliases, but it also appears they use more than one screen name.

Their obvious goal is to prevent meaningful results from being achieved.

They have been doing it since before Bush came into office. Even under Clinton they were pro government disruptor's.

When someone makes a personal attack or disrupts a thread, anyone should be able to hit the abuse button and bar them from that thread, if the moderator agrees it was a personal attack or a disruption..

Are their privileged characters or not?

THIS WEB SITE can and should be relevant. Currently less than 4500 people on this site indicated they will stick by the GOP if they don't act to control the border.

I predict. This site is in jeopardy of becoming irrelevant. Your answer will tell us which way it is going to go.

If you doubt this, you should run a poll on it.

Looking forward to using the system and getting some good work done.

:)Easy Does IT:)

And BTW, I only have one screen name and have since I logged on to FR.

These minutemen spokespeople have been everywhere putting their reputations on the line. At this point...I'll take their word for it. Remember...a lot of their volunteers are veterans.

JEDI.

why are all levels of govt agencies on both sides being so "delicate" about the true problem of aliens sneaking in to the U.S. across our border. Various govt agencies can provide intel to one another all day long, but the fact is that the border is leaking... BADLY... in defiance of our LAWS. The Minutemen are simply providing the service of bringing attention to that FACT.

I know...that's the only reason why they even started. Which begs the question you asked: why is our government resisting, for so long, enforcing laws, which, by not doing so, is causing severe problems (on hospitals, schools, and law enforcement, increasing murders andrapes, and draining our resources, financially and otherwise). Why? "One Continent" in preparation of NWO? What other point could there possibly be to ensure the cost and resultant angst worsens?

It may become irrelevant to the Buchananites, Birchers, and other permanently disaffected types.

Are you suggesting that would be bad?

1. I've not read all 400-some-odd posts here, but I damned well hope my government would keep an eye on a bunch of men running around playing policeman, talking about building a "border fence," and the like.

2. IMO, if you come on FR and advocate a whole bunch of sh** the end result of which is to get more Democrats elected, maybe even let 'em take over the House or Senate, then I hope that the mods keep an eye on you, too!

I haven't read them all either. Yeah, I can understad why real policemen would hate people who run around with walkie talkies and report on illegal activity. Man, those guys always use more police resources than the good they do.

Except if they are, like, NEIGBORHOOD WATCH!!!

Which is exaclty what the MM are.

You can break the law all you want in this country that doesn't seem to matter a lot but never take the law into your own hands , they will track you down like a dog.

You are absolutely right.

Nothing will bring down the wrath of a government,an agency or a person in a position of power quicker than a subordinate that questions, defies, or attempts to infringe on or threaten that power or it's source.

You might as well try to take a fresh kill from a hungry grizzly.
