That's a change from what I heard originally which was that like with book 6 she was going to take a year off, and even without that year off book 6 took forever. Maybe the juices started flowing before she thought.
Late summer next year works, between the theatrical and DVD release of movie 5.

I've read that book seven will be released on 7/7/07.
OOTP should be out shortly thereafter. Book 7 release date is also Jo's birthday,I think.
Thanks for the ping.

Keep in mind it's the latest rumor, so it could completely change. Allegedly book 7 and movie 5 are supposed to be released fairly close together. But, it's really just rumor for now.

Yes.
Also 7 is the Godly number. 777 is the exact antithesis of 666.

Release date I've seen for movie 5 is June 2007, which keeps with their current cycle of 18ish months November and June releases.

The last of the big pop culture hits that I hope will infuse our children with conservative values is, of course, The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Although this movie doesnt quite rank with the revenue numbers for the Ring trilogy or the Harry Potter movies, it has already earned a respectable $291,706,092 in the United States. Indeed, for 2005 releases, it placed second only to the most recent Star Wars movie. Actually, according to Domestic all time hits, Narnia actually beat Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Definitely. I think it's planned. You know, Fudge denying the threat. Those who say it's coming are said to be deranged. When the threat comes the people rise up, take emergency action, fight hard. Elect a new, hardline, fierce leader to lead the charge, etc.
(Of course it could also fit in with the Cold War too)

But it didn't beat all the Harry Potter movies together. Or even the Sorcerer's Stone. I think he may have meant one of those two. I still love them both though.

Narbia did not beat Sorcerers Stone, but did beat the other Harry Potter films. And did so without the books being a recent-time hit

"This means that, back in 1956 when Lewis wrote this book, his imagination carried him to a place in which Muslim-like people attack the West and usher in the end of the world."
What is more, he anticipated that it would be an operation that was deliberate and involved gradual infiltration by the "Calormen," in just the manner that Europe is being taken down by Islam today.

If you are referring to the part in 'The Half Blood Prince', where the Muggle Prime Minister refers to the president of that far off land as a "horrid man", please remember two things;
1) JKR did not mention the man in question as being the president of the United States.
2) If JKR was in fact talking about the president of the United States, remember this: Harry Potter was born on July 31st, 1980. At the time of this book he was 16 years old, so it would have been 1996. If this is the case, then the President of the United States would have been Bill Clinton.

selfish?
Not at all, I'm with you... I was taking turns with my son reading HP : GOF before he went to bed...half way through it, I got tired and so did he, so I bought the tapes and we snuggled in bed and listened. Since that time we've listened to the book 3 more times during short trips in my car around town. Now the real heartbreaker is I think the 11th tape of the set is still in the tape deck of the car I sold last year.... sigh
I love unabridged books on tape and CD. I cook, sew, clean, garden, paint, walk, run, bike, drive, etc all while listening. I feel like I'm making the most of every moment...

You sound like me. :) I love to listen to them. I tend to listen to children's classics more though, Anne of Green Gables, The Hobbit, HP books, and I've been listening the Chronicles of Narnia recently. Do you know of any good adult books on tape that don't have any surprises in the text. I have a little one always nearby and don't want to get anything that has really bad language in it.
