You know .. I've had enough of this crap
They *itch and complain .. then when he does what they want .. they *itch and complain about that
The professional whiners can stick it in their hat as far as I'm concern

is more transparent than the Scotch tape used to hold together our dilapidated border fences. (That's only a slight exaggeration.)I love Malkin's writing, but this silliness is what we don't read right now.
I'm just amazed all all these border security experts popping out of the woodwork! And yes, Malkin IS a good writer on immigration failures, but this is ridiculous hyperbole.

Gotta disagree with Ms. Malkin here.
We should have closed the southern border ten years ago.

Bush is failing badly on security measures for this country. BTW he hasn't done what we want. He is making token gestures to try to get people behind his BS amnesty disguised as a guest worker program. It has taken him 5 years to even do this much and as for the raids over the last few weeks they were a joke, they released all the ILLEGALS they arrested and didn't fine or enforce any laws against the employers at all. It was all for show.
How badly does Bush have to screw up on the border issue for people like you to see how wrong he is and see the danger we are in because of his stupidity?

Malkin is just another member of the perpetually p*ssed off crowd.
It really isn't about illegal immigration. That is just the current issue they've hijacked in order to spread their venom.
Sooner or later, they'll move on to some other issue and say it is all "Bush's fault."

...then when he does what they want...Has he done anything? Let me know when the border is closed and only legal immigrants are employed.

The border isn't the Pressident's fault
The States failed to handle the problem YEARS AGO and now want the Feds to bail them out

It's wonderful that this voice for reality and common sense comes from the daughter of LEGAL immigrants from the Phillipines. Michelle is the energizer bunny; she takes a pounding from the left, but she keeps on ticking strong and true.

The President and the Senate can call their proposal whatever they like but its still an amnesty! And if they pass it, the GOP can kiss its Senate majority good-bye in November. It couldn't happen to a more arrogant bunch of politicians.

I agree with you both. I like Malkin but she needs to lighten up a little.

I agree with her.
Althought we need to wait to see what Bush is really proposing, based on his track record on this it would be easy so predict that this is just a token measure. He's already reassured Fox that this is just temporary, the number of actual guard will probably be few etc. etc. etc.
This has all the makings of "window dressing" not real border security, I hope I'm wrong.

This is as bad as the pubbies using the president as a whipping boy to get re-elected. After all the (valid) complaining by Malkin and others, this is how to encourage more reforms? Keep complaining?
Hey Michelle: It may be chic to bash the president, but it ain't always smart. Your ratings will survive if you support the man trying to do what people are asking for.

Blame some Fed judges, too. When California finally decided to cut off the welfare teet for illegals, in came a federal judge with a hyperventilating Constitution.
