"Sorry, that dog don't hunt. "
Ok, explain to me how you think you move a party back to it's base?
You say, vote for republicans because they are better than democrats. But you acknowledge the republicans are doing a pitiful job.
How bad do they have to be before you don't vote for them?
They currently are ignoring their constituents. If republicans are re-elected, no matter what they do, on the premise that they are better than the democrats, what incentive do they have to ever pay attention to the voters?

Governor Davis refused to allow the appeal to proceed and dropped the appeal, essentially KILLING PROP 187 against the will of the voters. This after having promised to support the appeal during his campaign.

And she supported Bush back then, correct?
I am not intimately familiar with all of Malkin's preferences, but I would guess that she supported Bush then, and probably supports him now in most areas. However, illegal immigration has been her focus issue for years now and I think that part of the reason she wrote "Invasion" was to bring to light the woefully inadequate border security post 9-11. She has been hammering away at this issue ever since and, now that things have come to a head, she is probably just as, if not more, flabbergasted that Bush would even consider an amnesty program as the rest of us who voted for him. And, by the way, by "come to a head", I mean hundreds of thousands of illegal invaders marching through American streets waiving flags of their home countries and making demands.
So, disagree with Malikin all you want, but please refrain from the pointless and untrue claims that she is somehow jumping on the illegal immigration bandwagon. Malkin was anti-illegal immigration before being anti-illegal immigration was cool.

The border isn't the Pressident's fault The States failed to handle the problem YEARS AGO and now want the Feds to bail them out.
You do realize, don't you, that international borders are not the responsibility of the various States?

"The 'neo royalists' have already divided up the world. They are now simply trying to put the yoke on their peons. They don't want chaos, so they pretend to appease us. But, make no mistake about it, they have no intention of closing the border or returning the illegal immigrants that they brought here. The peoples of the Americas will be mixed and rolled into one "kingdom," the primary Language will be Spanish, which is the most widely currently spoken in the Americas."
You put it in a nut shell. Of course the Trans-nationals wouldn't use the term 'kingdom', instead they'll call it 'Pan America' or something -- but in the end it will amount to the same thing.

"Ok, explain to me how you think you move a party back to it's base?"
Different dog, though that is a quite important one.
My point is that while we take that one to the woodshed, a whole pack of mongrels moves in on you.
"How bad do they have to be before you don't vote for them?"
They would have to be worse than the alternative. Currently, they are still much better on just about everything. Admittedly, on border issues, they are only a little, nearly microscopic degree better.
"They currently are ignoring their constituents."
Not entirely, though they do p*ss me off a lot lately. The other folks do indeed pay great attention to their constituents, the problem with that is that I don't want what their constituents want. I'd much rather get some of what I want than get a whole bunch of what I really don't want.
"If republicans are re-elected, no matter what they do, on the premise that they are better than the democrats, what incentive do they have to ever pay attention to the voters?"
Good point. Punishing them by sending them home and letting the Hell's Angels of American politics take their place is not an improvement, however.
Are we in a bad position, you bet. Could we make it immensely worse by indulging ourselves in a fit of pique? Absolutely.

You really need to stop embarrassing yourself.
This poster just saw my umpteenth pregnant non English speaking person with six kid in tow today. 4 years ago I could count them on one hand. The school she is taking them to has 90 % non English speaking students of primarily Mexican National parents and it's only function at this point is to employ teachers and keep the teacher's unions in business. So I assume you approve of the teacher's unions.
I really enjoyed the three Mexican Flag waving demonstrations in my neighborhood too. Everyone always enjoys threatening with expulsion from the land where their family has been for five generations.

You should. What is at stake goes far beyond politics.
You all want to teach the pubbies a lesson .. go for it And I hope you all get Hellary as President .. you all deserve her
I am voting straight GOP 2006 and 2008 and beyond. This has nothing to do with politics as far as I am concerned.

To make a cake, you have to break a few eggs.
The "Contract with America" came after repeated republican failures in elections. I submit to you, that the only way to improve is to make those in the position to improve aware that improvement is required.
You won't get a lot of what you don't want with democrats, but you will get a little. I am constantly told here that the problem that republicans have is that the democrats are obstructionist. So, a republican minority can't obstruct democrats?! Are you telling me democrats are better then republicans?
We've survived Dems before, I suspect we can again.
