Before I start .. let me just say that I do agree there is a huge problem on the border that need to be fixed

People want something that's for real. The temporary deployment of powerless, unarmed National Guardsmen to the border, plus an amnesty program, simply doesn't cut it.

Put aside the fact there are laws regarding putting armed military down there

How do you think Mexico will react if we put 30-50,000+ heavily armed military on the boarder of Mexico .. especially if Fox is replaced in their next election by a hard core nit wit

If I was to take a guess .. Mexico will counter it and put their heavily armed military on their side of the border

"This is NOT Bush's fault, but it's on his watch that the bill is coming due."

I disagree.

Bush could have put up a fence on 9/12/01. He did not do it.

He could have make in an imperative and priority to go after companies who hire illegals (invaders). In 2002 there were 119 companies paying fines (http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/aboutus/foia/ereadrm/es2_02.pdf). In 2005 there were only EIGHT! (http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/aboutus/foia/ereadrm/Aug05empsan.pdf). Notice that these are government statistics on government websites.

If he were serious about securing the borders then we would not be reading about companies paying coyotes $1,000 to import labor. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0416immig-jobs0416.html
Was that employer put in jail for buying a worker? I don't know but his hind quarter should be in jail, his business should have been seized under RICO laws. The business owner would not have paid the cash if he thought he would lose everything.

There is little being done to those who flagrantly break the law by being here without the proper documentaion or to those who hire those without papers. Both of these are the fault of President Bush. He has done nothing about this issue but render lip service.

*grins*

Other than the fact that I don't think it's Bush's fault, I agree with you on everything else.

Judge Matthew Byrne started the process with a temporary restraining order. This allowed the whole thing to be delayed until Wilson was out of office.

But I do appreciate your obnoxious attitude.

"It really isn't about illegal immigration. That is just the current issue they've hijacked in order to spread their venom."

From your About page, I would have guessed that you realize that illegal immigration is the defining issue of our time--without getting it under control, the country is finished. It's actually even bigger than potential terror attacks, which are direct and definable and addressable. If the country is a house, a terror attack is an RPG into the living room. A calamity, but something we can respond to and rally around and fix. Illegal immigration is a megaswarm of termites. The house is already ruined beyond repair before we realize it has destroyed us from the foundation up.

Safe travel.

That sounds accurate to me.
Maybe there's a Quisling Youth movement that could use a member.

re: President Bush is already bowing and scraping to Mexico over the plan before he's even officially announced it. )))

But why?

WHY?

No kidding but don't be fooled.

Most of the Qusilings here are reverse racists who wish to see the majority culture taken down or they are Bush sychophants or simply clique yearners looking for rings to kiss and toes to suck

When Bush accused those of us concerned about the UAE ports issue of racism, he went too far. The same is being done now, though he & his open borders supporters uses code words now. "Civil" tone. Same is being thrown at Malkin. GREAT way to win elections people, call your supporters racists... I always thought "the race card" was unfairly accusing someone of racism, or blaming racism for some slight or perceived injustice. Who is really playing the race card? It isn't the secure the borders crowd, and it isn't Michelle Malkin...
