The illegal alien issue has been around for decades, and yes, I've posted about it before. Not too many people were interested in the issue over the past several years, though. Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose.
But today, the issue is in the public limelight and has gained large attention. There is no better time to address the issue than now. The people have seen the elephant in the living room and most want it out. Unfortunately, other than the House Republicans, there doesn't seem to be many in government that want to do what's necessary.
It is a hinge issue for many, and for good reason. If this invasion isn't stemmed and corrected, this country will cease to exist in any form resembling the constitutional republic that it is (or at least was). The marches in recent weeks clearly illustrated the intent of a large number of illegals and their supporters. And their intent clearly isn't to become productive, tax-paying Republicans.
Well not necessarily stupid in the lack of smarts context (well maybe even then sometimes), but waaaay over the top in a manner that does not stand for conservative ideals by any means.
Did you read the Vox Day article from yesterday in WND? Where he compares how Germany was able to rid itself of 6 million Jews in a short time and how we ought to be able to just as easily deport illegals. NEVER ONCE giving recognition to the fact the Nazi's got rid of them via extermination.
Land mines, German tactics...waaaay over the top commentary that has no place in rational discussion. THAT'S what we are stating won't be tolerated here anymore.
What's sad is that many well stated, thoughtful and insightful FReepers have quit posting here because of the ongoing Bush bashing from the anti-illegals. Which is the primary objective of some of them.

Now I understand how I posted the wrong paste to Peach. I flipped it with a response to you. I apologize to both of you. I'm learning to use the Firefox auto-copy plugin and screwed up.
Thanks...just dam. :(
That's about 19% of the Southern border. I'm not happy. The House version is a lot closer to a true fence, although it still is too short.
Expect attacks from the Obsessed for posting such rationality.
And you wonder why people consider you a troll?
I guess some people want to see more pictures like the one we saw that Easter Saturday Morning. A little boy cowering in a closet while a masked soldier pointed a rifle at him.

Like I'm really gonna come back later and try to catch up on the next 1,200 posts.
Today, Rush talked about the Herndon Virginia primaries that kicked out all the people responsible for okaying the Day Laborer Shelter.
This news spread to Pennsylvania where certain republicans were trashed in their primaries.
Rush says that this is the type of message that is reaching the politicians up for reelection.
So....it seems to be working.
We could also use all those pit bulls that everyone seems to hate :)
English as official language amendment coming up next.
How about doing border security first? That is hardly a position held only by the boxcar/landmine crowd (as you like to refer to us) - Krauthammer agrees, and he's for allowing the illegals already here to stay.
Any legislation dealing with illegals already here, from forced deportation to amnesty to a guest worker program, will fail as long as illegals can continue to come across the border by the millions.
That is the problem with Bush's current stance - sending a few thousand NG troops to the border for part time non-enforcement duty does little to improve border security. But ever since Bush started talking seriously about a guest worker program, illegal crossings have jumped. That right there is a solid indication that we need to have security in place before changing any existing laws.
That is the most preposterous thing you have EVER said on FR, Georgie, and that is saying something!
Wow...........I'm laughing here, onyx.
Ooo, scary!
You make some good points and we are not entirely in disagreement. However, you really shouldn't let my posts or others get you so riled.
We are on the same side here, basically... at least, I think so.
Do you like cheese?
LOL -- a CYA vote for certain, as were many of the democrats' votes.
I am THRILLED it passed!
Please see my Post 1289 as an answer to your post - I'm getting a little tired of typing.
