Murtha To Snag Honor For Speaking Out On Iraq War
The Associated Press ^ | 5/21/06

Posted on 05/21/2006 2:01:40 PM PDT by Blackirish

(AP) WASHINGTON The first Vietnam veteran elected to Congress, US Representative John Murtha took pride in politicking quietly, behind the scenes, with Republicans and fellow Democrats alike.

But Washington has become more deeply partisan since Murtha was swept into office more than 30 years ago. And so has Murtha, in a\ very public way.

On Monday, Murtha is to be awarded the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award in Boston for his bold pronouncement that U.S. troops should be pulled out of Iraq.

It's a statement many say helped change the public debate over the war, because of Murtha's past as a Democratic hawk and retired Marine reserves colonel who enjoyed easy access to presidents.

Murtha says he should have voiced his concerns about Iraq sooner.

Murtha just said last week that our marines were killing iraqi civilians in cold blood -- and he is the recipient of this award? Profile in courage? Disgraceful, but oh so typical these days. Awards only granted to those who work against this country. What a shame.

Just once I would like to see the "John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage" award go to someone who actually displayed REAL courage in politics, someone who had the guts to stand up from within the Demagogic Party and tell the vicious depraved charlatans like Ted "Swimmer" Kennedy, Howard Dean, John "Vichy" Kerry, Algore, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Sandy Burglar, Joe and Valerie Pflame Wilson, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and pals that they are SCUM, treasonous filthy scum. But of course the "Profile in Courgage" awards don't go to anyone who actually has the courage to stand up against the lies of the Demagogic Party, no, these awards only go to people like Murtha who display no courage whatsoever in pandering to the loony left of the Demagogues.

Well, the PIC was ghost written anyhow, and that is a true irony.

The book won an award for a fraud who never wrote it, and the next recipient will be a man who has so completely crossed over to the dark side that it is unfathomable to me.

Considering some of the people who have received this no honor award; I think a more appropriate title would be "The Caroline Kennedy Award for Her Agenda"...there have been no "Profiles in Courage" identified with many of the recipients. Did it take courage to vilify our country while she was at war? I think not. This award isn't honorable...it's a travesty to keep the Kennedy name before the public.

Folks, we have a real opportunity here. Whether or not you live in Murtha's district, you can help send him to an early retirement. Kerry carried that district 51-49%. Murtha is by no means a shoo-in, especially after his disgraceful behavior this past six months. You can help defeat him by FReepmailing me, freema or justnobody and asking to get on the Murtha/Irey ping list, sending a donation to Diana Irey's campaign, writing letters to the editor of various papers concerning Murtha's treasonous behavior, signing up for campaign E-mails, etc.
