Ms. Heard,

I'm a "decorated combat Marine." I think that EX-Marine Jack Murtha is a disgraceful piece of trash, as are you. Neither of you bothers with the slightest presumption of innocence, as both of your articles drive home again and again.

I hope my comments were among those in 119 that you found especially disturbing. Trust me, the feeling is mutual.

The difference, of course, is that one of us is actually familiar with combat.

that this murdering troop has the support of even those 119 posters is worrisome. Surely, nobody should defend the indefensible based on some false notion of patriotism.

The real problem here, Ms. Heard, is that we don't KNOW that these men committed this crime. You have them already tried and convicted. The outrage on Free Republic has to do with the fact that most of us here have seen this kind of bu!!$h!t smear time after time by the drive-by media, and we know that the likelihood is great that the crime never happened, or at least not as it has been characterized. Given that you are undoubtedly fair-minded, I expect to see your apology and retraction when we are proved right, as I am sure we will be.

Military personnel should act as ambassadors for their country and behave according to international rules of law and the Geneva Conventions that were drawn up as a result of atrocities committed during the Second World War. There should be a difference between real soldiers and ruthless thugs with public opinion the final arbiter.

Marines, as a group, are some of the finest citizens this country produces. Remember the line from "The Marine Corps Hymn" that talks about "to keep our honor clean"? It's their THEME song. I'm sure you've probably never heard it, or if you have, you haven't contemplated the words.

If the public, as represented by the 119 posters on the Free Republic website, condones such behaviour or seeks to excuse it, then not only is its members giving their country's soldiers a license to kill arbitrarily, they are altering the fundamental psyche of their nation.

First, you have a subject / verb agreement in the first sentence in the paragraph. That nit pick aside, the sentence itself makes no sense. How is a right wing website that has about 100,000 posters, an almost statistically insignificant portion of the American populace, changing the psyche of the American public?

In short, people who glorify soldiers who purposefully assassinate women and small children are as misguided as those who glorify the blowing up of crowded buses, trains and marketplaces.

Alright, I'm starting to get p!$$ed. How do you jump from us defending the men who are most likely being railroaded, to saying we glorify assassins? John Kerry admits to having been witness to, and having committed war crimes. He was a few thousand votes in Ohio from being President. What do you have to say about his actions?

Ms. Heard,

I'd suggest that all left-wing, moon-bat, "journalists" echoing Murtha (including YOU) be considered traitors until proven otherwise. I thought we tried cases in the courtroom, not the media.

In any event, we all anxiously await your defense.

Dear Ms Heard,

After much deep contemplation this Memorial Day on the sacrifice in blood of the many brave soldiers who have maintained the arduous trails of freedom.

Dead soldiers are the foundation stones of this Greatest Nation on Earth, and the living fighting soldiers are the ones who are paying the mortgage so that I can enjoy this freedom and prosperity.

War is ugly, sadly, innocent people get hurt when cowards use civilians as sheilds

soldiers get hurt and wars get lost when political strife divides the mission.

Your foolish words have prompted me to make another much larger donation this day to the Diana Irey campaign fund.

It is the very least I can do to support our troops.

She's just mad that everyone's not jumping on the lynch the Military bandwagon. Muthra is a poor example of an ex-marine and a shame to my home state: I only wished I can be one to vote again this "rotten to the core" leftist.

I take it she is writing from the confines of her office on our shores about an event that happened halfway around the global and assumes that everything happened as she was told.

If you want to pony cash to help the civilian deaths like you b@tch about the 9-11 survivors got, then do it. Most of those billions were raised by US citizens not the military/government. Quit this leftist "lets solve the problem" with tax money.

War causes deaths of anyone who in the operational area, which it is a shame when civilian population gets harmed but no war would have been won if the military had to walk on eggshells to win.

Does the donning of a uniform render its wearer impervious to justice? The Nuremberg trials indicate not

Ms. Heard, your oblique reference to Nazi atrocities show your true colors. Our Marines no matter what happened deserve a presumption of innocence before any judgments can be rendered. On the other hand you have condemned them as war criminals in advance.

You have no idea what real patriots are about. On a day when we remember those who lost their lives in defense of our country you demean those who have gone before us in defense of liberty and freedom. We on the other hand will never forget.

I am not sure if any of my comments were on that thread she referenced...BUT, it seems to me that it was MURTHA that was trying to find "excuses" for behaviour he had already convicted the Marines of participating in.

I think it was the freepers that were asking for facts and a trial before convicting anyone.

I thought THAT was the American Way...and sure seems more patriotic to me, than a couple of loudmouths proclaiming them guilty without benefit of a completed investigation or a trial.

To Ms Heard: Oh would that your heart would bleed so passionately for the victims of terrorism, many of which are our armed forces which you so blithely condemn on Memorial Day! Please do the country a favor and dry up and blow away.

Surely, nobody should pronounce guilt without knowledge of the facts. .....as you and Murtha have done. Let the process play itself out.

"Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn't have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan."

"The "Freepers" - as members of the Free Republic website have come to be known - may also like to contemplate the words of theologian Howard Thurman who said "During times of war, hatred becomes quite respectable, even though it has to masquerade often under the guise of patriotism.""

What is it that blinds these idiots to their own projection? Their hate is bigger than life; they scream about how patriotic they are; then point to these sins in others without irony.

BTW. Thank you for your service to our country.

Here's the _itch's leadoff from her first piece of rubbish. "We have witnessed enough to know that the US military is behaving more like Barbarian hordes than a well-trained army." She doesn't have a clue. She's pandering to her leftist airheads. She doesn't give a damn, nor does she appriciate the military that is shut down these jihadist killers.

The newspaper employee finally gets it: let there be an investigation and evidence of wrong doing, charges and trials (if warranted) -- then convictions, if found gulity.

Linda, we don't give a rat's butt how they do things in whatever communist-lite country you hail from, but here people are innocent until proven guilty, and are entitled to a fair trial.... not a premature trial and conviction by some spewing, hateful, clueless, journalist hack such as yourself.

You are a fawning terrorist apologist who is taken seriously by nobody outside of the echo-chamber of your own far-left ideology. Quit your infantile whining and get over your sorry self.

"The fact that this murdering troop has the support of even those 119 posters is worrisome. Surely, nobody should defend the indefensible based on some false notion of patriotism.

This b-tch is an unabashed liar and a fraud. I read through those posts, mine was one of them, and few if any could be interpreted as saying "way to go guys!" We are merely reserving judgment until all the facts are known. And as I pointed out in my comment on that thread, these troops will be held accountable, appropriately, if they are found guilty unlike happens among the Muslim terrorists who regularly murder civilians for sport! But then being a well-known Tokyo Rose type who loves all things Arab and works out of the UAE I guess she would have no appreciation for democratic principles like innocent until proven guilty. But if they are guilty, the terrorists themselves deserve a big share of the blame for creating an environment of chaos and murder in Iraq. Yet will Ms. Heard EVER write a column about the many murders a day of Iraqi innocents that her heroes the terrorists carry out as their approve tactics??

Maybe if they would be REAL men who would come out into the open and fight like real men instead of the abject cowards they are using sissified stand off tactics like road side bombs, they wouldn't be creating an atmosphere of suspicion and frustration such that incident like this alleged act would occur. I'm amazed our men have been as disciplined and respectful of civilians as they have in this environment. As I said on my original posting, "Go screw yourself Ms. Heard!"
