I'm having lunch w/ President and First Lady on Tuesday!

Posted on 05/29/2006 8:07:29 PM PDT by chris_in_nj

Well my good friends George and Laura have yet to see the movie United 93. To see it they have invited 2 people from each of the families of those that died on 9/11 aboard Flight 93. After a late lunch/early dinner with the President and First Lady but only one of us will be able to view the movie w/ them.

Since my mother has not seen it yet - but is ready to now - she will go in with them to view it...and I will get an up close and personal tour of the White House.

This, on the heels of Memorial Day, should be amazing. It's going to be heavy-duty on my mother but I think she'll handle it well....fingers crossed.

For anyone who has not seen it please do - it is amazing. You'll walk out having gone through every emotion possible in about 90 minutes...and you'll leave knowing full well why we are fighting.

Hope everyone had a safe and great weekend!

God Bless America,

Chris Proud son of Patrick 'Joe' Driscoll Flight 93

Never Forget Never Forgive

I saw United 93 and was so moved.
I am glad family members are being recogized at the White House and glad you and your mother are able to attend.
Thank you for your dad and all on the flight for their courage and the first to counter in the War on Terror.

and yes, Never Forget and Never Forgive.

Indeed. It is an excellent movie. Everyone should go both to support the excellent film and to remember what we're fighting for.

Your father was a hero, as was everyone on board that flight - the more so because they boarded the plane as ordinary civilians and died frontline soldiers in the War on Terror. The movie certainly hightened my appreciation for them all. May G-d bless your family.

Have a great visit with the President.

Shalom.

Thanks, Chris.

God's best to all of you tomorrow. May it be richly meaningful and blessed in a long list of ways.

Thanks for letting us know. It will be an emotional time for you, your Mother and all the families.

What your Dad and his fellow passengers did on 9-11 was the one bright moment in that horrific day.

Those heroic passengers fought back for all Americans. And they won the first battle in the War on Terrorism.

I hope that many Americans will visit the Memorial in Shanksville to express their gratitude, as my husband & I did in 2004.

And may it comfort you and all the families to know that future generations will continue to honor those Forty Angels for their bravery and sacrifice.

My husband and I watched Flight 93 this weekend. The director did a fine job, it was a great movie. I had chills most of the movie and tears the rest of the movie.

If United 93 is any where close to as well done as Flight 93, you bet we will see it.

God Bless you and your family.

It's not in the Metroplex. It's at County Line in Houston.

Shalom.

God bless you and your family. Your reason for meeting President Bush is tragic, but I hope you find comfort in that meeting.

Well, obviously this is a very sad reason for attending a White House ceremony and I hope your Mom is able to maintain her composure enough so she can shed a few tears with both President and Mrs. Bush.

On the lighter side, if you do get to take a family photo with the President, perhaps you can ask him to hold a sign:

"I ♥ FreeRepublic.com"

:-)

It will be a somber occasion but I hope you enjoy your day.

If either Al Gore or John Kerry were president, they would be seeing Syriana or Munich.

I am so glad for you and your mother. So very sorry for your loss.

I saw the movie and it was really informative. The only problem is I could not identify who the different characters represented - ex. the head air traffic controller shutting down all air traffic. Never got his name or understood his job title.

An amazing story. The whole major problem in handling the crisis was the utter inability for anyone to comprehend the vast scope of the attack on America. Must have been the same at Pearl Harbor.

What a nice, kind effort by the President of the United States. May God bless all of you.

"I will get an up close and personal tour of the White House."

Back in the Clinton days, for $50 you could jump up and down on the bed in the Lincoln bedroom. But they probably don't allow that anymore.
