Coulter won't apologize for slamming 9/11 widows

...a town where a dozen roadways are named in honor of those who died that day, few took to New York Avenue to protest the bookstore signing of the conservative author.

Instead, a defiant Coulter was met with more than 300 spirited fans at an event broadcast live to hundreds of radio stations by conservative commentator -- and Huntington Town resident -- Sean Hannity.

Huntington Town Board member Mark Cuthbertson, publicly rebuked her as he handed over a letter. "I'm here on behalf of many of my constituents. We are disgusted with your comments," he said, drawing hoots from the crowd.

Coulter ripped up the letter to the cheers of her admirers, an action Cuthberston later said shows she is "promoting hate speech."

Yeah she really showed him! There's nothing in her book any one could take offense to - unless they're liberals.

Nor should she.......

She's the only one with brains enough to break through the Liberal version of papal infallibility. These people who are allegedly off limits because they're victims need to be hit hard so as to shock and disorient the Libbies who smugly believe they have found vehicles to express their intellectual garbage without getting criticism back.

"Hey, if Mrs. Clinton is going to start being concerned about angry women, perhaps she should go talk to her husband who was accused of rape by Juanita Broaddrick and was groping Kathleen Willey at the moment Kathleen Willey's husband was committing suicide."

I think leaving off part of the quote is what is meant by sanitized.

...I just purchased Ann's new book. We all should do to make the Left more wild !!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I wasn't going to buy it, but now feel kind of obligated to do so.

There is a right way to say the truth and the wrong way. Ann Coulture does the latter. I blast Howard the Dean and Dennis the Kusinich for doing stuff like this. The left cannot openly debate us, why does she need to engage in this behavior. I do not care for Ann Coulture. Not that some of her points are not well taken, it's what surrounds those points.

These widows put themselves in the public spotlught as "experts" on vritually everything and then they complain when someone criticizes them (even though some of the words were poorly chosen) for stands they've taken. While I'm sorry they lost their husbands who were stranded in a building burned by murderous terrorists, I feel a lot more sorry for the families of the fire, police and rescue personnel who charged in to save them without regard to their own lives. I feel a lot more sorry for the family of the Clemson coed who was strnagled by a repeat offender who should NEVER have gotten out of jail, the family of the little girl in Florida buried alive by a filty pervert, the families of our Iraq/Afghan war dead, and the families of the Cole and Oklahoma City bombings who will not receive millions in compensation from federal taxpayers like the Jersey Girls did and also don't demand billion dollar memorials and commemorative museums.

This is not a criticism of Ann, but am I the only one who thinks she takes what Rush has said for years and transferred those thoughts into book format?

I have to agree, but here is the treatment of Ann's spot-on response embedded in the article...

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called the book a "vicious, mean-spirited attack," and said, "Perhaps her book should have been called 'Heartless.'"

Coulter responded to Clinton on the radio show Wednesday: "I think if she's worried about people being mean to women she should have a talk with her husband."

As you can see, a little liberal editing makes Ann's comment less biting.

I pray Annie never shuts up

She gets people discussing controversial issues, and whether it's just being naturally outspoken or looking for book sales, puts her own spin on things.

Some people just can't take it when a gal has strongly held and sometimes controversial opinions. It's their problem.

This is just too hilarious! Ann is a throwback to a time when Americans weren't ruled by the PC police. Thank God that someone is leading the fight against the wussification of our country.

"But most people can recognize a rhetorical device when they see it. "

Actually I'm surprised by the number of people who don't recognize satire and its accompanying literary device called hyperbole. That includes a few freepers.

They whine and complain that Ann is "not telling the truth." Well, how about that. Satire, by its nature, uses the literary tools of exagerration and humor to make a point.

Both Mark Twain and HL Mencken wrote satire and were roundly criticized in their day.

Ann stands in good company.
