7:36 p.m. PDT

The launch winds are now 28 knots at the pad. They have been increasing over the past hour. Forecasters say there's a 70 percent chance the winds will be "no go" for launch.

The plan is to continue the countdown and pre-launch procedures up to the built in holds while monitoring wind conditions.

Maybe it will delay the launch enough to launch in darker skies, more spectacular.

Media Kit for Delta IV Launch of NROL-22

The NROL-22 satellite will be lofted into orbit aboard a Boeing Delta IV Medium-Plus variant launch vehicle from Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB).

This mission represents the inaugural NRO flight for the U.S. Air Force's Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) program.

The Delta IV rocket will lift off from Space Launch Complex 6 (SLC-6) and will be the first launch from SLC-6 since its reconstruction to accommodate Delta IV space operations. Multimedia
