Try it in the UV, and report back your results...

There are Christian sects that would rather their baby DIE than receive a transfusion.

Better to lose their body, than their immortal Soul.

You stated,
"There are Christian sects that would rather their baby DIE than receive a transfusion.

Better to lose their body, than their immortal Soul."

Indeed, there are folks who do believe this...I actually had some Jehovahs Witnesses come to my door, many years ago, and normally I just dont converse with them...but at the time, my son was having chemotherapy, and receiving blood transfusions, and I knew that the JWs do not condone anyone having a blood transfusion...they told me, that it would be better for my son to have no transfusions(thus assuring his very quick demise), because it would be better for him to save his immortal Soul(or words to that affect)...

And while working in nursing homes, I have had to care for three Christian Science ladies...they never received any medical care, even when they needed it...all we were ever allowed to do, was take care of them regarding their activities of daily living...medical care was forbidden...even taking their vital signs was forbidden..

And there are all sorts of little independent Christian groups, which use no modern medicine, but rely completely on the power of prayer...

So it is true, that while the majority of Christians do use medical care, and use all modern medicine, there are those who do not...

Since we lost the color receptors and then gained one back, I wonder if our brains neurologically could process a tetrachromatic color system.

I think children have enough plasticity in brain function that they might be able to handle a couple extra colors. For an adult, it would be sorta like learning a new language, never fully fluent, and always with an accent...

I have never forgiven Christian Science for the loss of Kermit.

I'm thinking the flicker rate that produces the experience of color must be related to the firing rate that would produce the "true" experience of color. I did some work on this in college, but it's an incredibly difficult field.

I've often wondered what would happen if one simulated one color's code with a flickering light of a different color...

What's really scary is one of my former homeless roommates had a friend named Justice, who hung out here a lot. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, is sure whether Justice is a girl person or a boy person.

Sorry. Larson has complained about copyrights.

His cartoon 'How birds see the world', a man, woman, and dog with bullseyes on top has to be pulled.

Dammit.

The evidence that legs were created is the lack of evidence that legs evolved.

Did you fail logic 101? The lack of evidence is not the proof for some other line of reasoning. First, a whole lot of trees died to make the tonnes of paper used to print the scholarly articles on this very subject. So there is ample evidence. Secondly, even though you do not believe this evidence, does not make manifewst evidence supporting a spontaneous, anonymous creation. You have no evidence for this 'creation' aside from a generic 'look around you' comment. Ever consider actuallty spending some time with real archeologists? They tend to be very pleasant people who love to share their interest in very old, dead things. Or are you too easily distracted with somehting like ADHD to be able to concentrate on the great detail in these subjects.

If it were suddenly thrust upon an adult, I imagine it would be like a man blide his entire life suddenly being able to see. In such cases, it takes months or years for the person to adjust. They still use touch and hearing to put what they see in a context they understand.

Something like that. I don't know how a kestrel perceives UV, but I think an adult human might see it with an accent, a bluer shade of blue, rather than as a distinct color in its own right.

Better to lose their body, than their immortal Soul.

Ex-wife had me attend several Pentecostal churches in central FL. I was approached by several members who urged me to give up my R&D position so my soul would be saved. Science disproves whats in the Bible, ergo science is Satanic and practicing it is the equivalent of Devil worship. I was told that scientists are never satisfied with what God has provided and they keep thinking they can do better. One even offered me a job as a cook in a restaurant so I could give up science. It was to save my soul, you see. There was even a sermon that essentially said that it is better to be obedient and uneducated than to go to college and earn an education for the ways of this world are not the ways of the Lord. I guess for the church coffers, an ignorant congregation is a happy congregation. As a side note, these members were the worst guests a restaurant could have on a Sunday after services. THey are all hyped up about how righteous they are.

Be careful, b_sharp. GourmetDan may next say the universe was created with the appearance of the age we see so you haven't falsified YEC. I can't make this stuff up.
