Its over for Germany. A stunning defeat. I'd say Italy is now the prohibitive favorite on Sunday.

I'd say Italy is now the prohibitive favorite on Sunday. One bright spot for the American team, they managed to hold Italy to a tie.
GO ITALIA!!

It was a really exciting game. Those Italians really handle the ball well and make terrific short passes, and their defense is second to none.

Indeed, the 90 minutes ended without a goal - opening the dramatic extra period in which Grosso and Del Piero wrote themselves into Italian football history Despite a promise the games would end on time. (Is this any way to run a railroad?)

Italy announced that they were withdrawing from the coalition just after a filthy Communist was elected Prime Minister about a month ago.

At least it didn't go to -- ugh -- penalty kicks.

This might seem like a dumb question, but is World Cup soccer popular among the average American? In my area (the DC area) everyone I know is watching the games, many taking off work. My family has had World Cup parties for every game (we're Hispanic). I don't know if soccer has taken off all over America or if its just my area, I'd like to hear from rural people about it.
