His "gotta get home" bit quoted in NYT captures his petulant, unserious, bored, disrespectful demeanor:
"In the taped conversation, Mr. Bush, clearly eager to get home to the White House after six days in Europe, is heard saying, apparently to a counterpart, possibly President Hu Jintao of China, who was sitting next to him, possibly President Validimir V. Putin of Russia, his host, Good job, gotta keep this thing moving I gotta leave at 2:15 youll want me out of town so to free up your security forces. His counterpart agrees, Ya, and he laughs along with Mr. Bushs trademark giggle.
But Mr. Bush sighs, and explains, Gotta go home, got something to do.
Then, more likely to Mr. Hu, he asks: Where you going? Home? This is your neighborhood; it wont take you long to get home.
The response cannot be heard, but Mr. Bush exclaims, You get home in 8 hours? Me too! Russia is a big country, and youre a big country.
A moment later, Mr. Bush can be heard saying to a waiter, No, not Coke, Diet Coke.
Proof that you have no room to talk about anyone. Where did you learn your manners hypocrite.
Pot, kettle, black
s***' is a technical term, irreplacable when referring to Hezbollah.
A politician spoke plainly and unequivocally for a change. And the problem with that is??????
The whiners need to get a life.
Yes, it was used as a figure of speech.........
Maybe, but in terms of reputation they are unmatched. They still come in #1 and #2 in US News' annual survey of college rankings.
Does Bush actually have a plan to stimulate Syria to get Hezbollah out of Lebanon? After all, the Syrian government isn't actually in the business of helping Israel or the United States out of sticky situations. Does Bush have something he's prepared to offer Syria in exchange for their cooperation? Does Bush really see a wider regional war as the means by which Syria is coerced into cooperating? Bush appears to be spewing his usual nonsense, just sitting around doing nothing and whining that Bashar Assad is not volunteering to help out the White House.
I can't wait for the next Bush press conference at which journalists will have an opportunity to ask these and other questions about whether Bush really has an actual plan for stopping the latest Hezbollah/Israel fracas.
People are always accusing Blair of being Bush's lapdog but lookee here:
Blair: Are you planning to say that here or not?
Bush: If you want me to.
Sounds like they have an excellent, to-the-point way of getting things done regardless of whose idea is on the table.
