The French are the ideal choice because of their history with Lebanon. They have good troops with lots of peace keeping experience (Its their politics that are messed up, not their military) Being Lefties the Media will pretty much ignore the head cracking they need to do as peace keepers. They do not trigger the knee jerk hysteria British, American or Jews do in the Arabs. They can spin it to the Muzzies as "stopping" the Israelis. They do not have any where near the existing commitments that the US and Britain do so have the forces available. The Israelis get a Neutral Zone and make one front in the WOT someone else's headache. It sends a message to Syria and Iran that the EU is not divided on controlling their terrorists proxy forces and adds pressure on Terhan to make a deal since they are diplomatically isolated

The $50 billion question is will the French do it?

We can reduce hezbullahs influence in the South and aid in the rebuilding of Lebanon.....This could be a real turning point along with our efforts in Iraq.

I would hope things turn out exactly like you say.I just have a hard time trusting Islamo-fascists.Their track record is severely lacking.

LOL! sure they will.... and they will find away to make $50 billion in the process... maybe by "observing" the Israeli forces..as a "service".... or mabye by being able to "leak" our a certain date and time when the servalience equipment will be out of service- due to a routine maintenance check of the electrical system- done simultaniously with a shift change.....or maybe by only "observing" one side of the border- blind to the weapons build up on the other side.....

What I thought she said was that these people are civilians, then they just go out and fire a few rockets as terrorists, then go back to being civilians. They are not hiding among the civilians; THEY ARE THE CIVILIANS!! Lara acted like this is acceptable behavior.

Ref #139, When any Newsperson comes up with statements like this they need to be made to document who these people are that are saying this stupid stuff. I could go to a Muslim Convenient store and ask three people at Random and find that sentiment. It is not news, it is opinion on their part and they are not made to document who these "People" are. They are trying to convince the Viewing public to be against Israel because they are anti Israel and always will be. They are beyond loathsome.......

Diogenesis, Those were some terrific photos that captured the moment of panic, fear, and yes terror in Seattle last week.

I've been talking with folks here (I live in a Seattle suburb) about the recent events and its implications and have become increasingly disquieted by them.

Do any of you remember the great old Sci-Fi movie "The Time Machine? (No, not the crappy 2002 schlock, but the masterful George Pal version that starred Rod Taylor!).

An inventor devises a time machine and travels to the distant future where he encounters a strange group of people called the Eloi. When faced with danger from the malevolent Morlocks they momentarily react with panic as one would expect, but, as soon as the immediate danger passes, resume their placid, almost trance-like former diversions.

The attitude of Seattlites (or Seattlunatics as I increasingly call them) is distressingly similar. They panic in the face of attack, but do nothing to protect themselves from the source of that danger. The hard left that I routinely encounter (and bash the heck out of!) on local blogs are shouting "Bush's fault! Bush's fault! Now look what you've stirred up! It's all Bush's fault!" But even after that, they have no idea what to do to protect themselves!

Like sheep to the slaughter....

I've always thought of Neal Gabler as the comic relief bad guy in professional wrestling, like Baron Von Ratshcke or the Iron Sheik or ... the list goes on.

There is no good way to sit through a Neal Gabler rant, except that it makes me nostalgic for the reasoned thoughtful discussions provided by Juan Willams...

I am wondering what percentage of French forces are Tunisian? Have not been able to find a number but guessing at least 1/3?
