We won't, but I believe the Israelis will have to.

True--today WW2 is like ancient history to most kids--and teachers.

I used to live in central NJ. Our school district was in an area of many retirees. The schools had a program of having WW2 vets and Holocaust survivors come in to speak to classes in the intermediate and high school history classes.History become very real to the kids, and the speakers told of things they had not talked about for fifty or more years, becasue it was important that their stories not die with them.

Also, because Veterans Day was not a holiday, our town would bus in, on a rotating basis, a couple of classes to attend the Veterans Day parade. The vets who marched really appreciated that--and the kids got to see real members of the Greatest Generation.

Instead, please, tell me sincerely:
Why USA, Russia, China, France, Israel can have nuclear bomb but Iran - not?

Because Americans, Russians, Chinese, French, and Israelis are not suicidal maniacs...and Muslims are.

That's wonderful! Really puts a face to the history for the kids.

The shame is nowadays the same veterans etc would not be welcome in a lot of schools (not all schools, but in many, with all the other curriculum, that just wouldn't be 'important')

Nobody would expect any of the countries that you have listed to start lobbing nukes at one-another. On the other hand who would be surprised if Israel or Saudi Arabia went up in a puff of smoke from an Iranian nuke? Who would be shocked if Hezb'Allah ended up with a couple?

In my opinion, the difficulty with Iran having nuclear weapons is their religious fanaticism. With the countries that you have listed, the doctrine of mutually assured destruction works. Not so in a society that believes that death by fighting Infidels is a certain ticket to Heaven -- that all the world must come under Sharia Law or die.

Iran supports non-state actors as well, such as Hezb'Allah, who would certainly have the bomb if Iran did. Iran should not have nuclear weapons for the same reason Chechnyan rebels should not. In fact, if Iran had nukes, Chechnyan rebels and all other good Muslim groups would probably soon have them.

They would use it the first chance they got. They would use it without fear of retaliation and they would use it without remorse. Indeed, they would celebrate the loss of Innocent lives. The one thing that unites all religions from Atheists to Buddhists, is that according to Islam, we are all Infidels, therefore, legitimate targets of Islam. Even Sunni Muslims are apostate in the Shia's eyes. The wholesale death and destruction would be inconceivable.
