Iran formally responded Tuesday to a package of Western incentives aimed at persuading Tehran to suspend uranium enrichment, with officials saying it has offered a "new formula" to resolve the dispute. The country's top nuclear negotiator said Tehran was ready to enter "serious negotiations." Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, hand-delivered Iran's response to the Western package of nuclear incentives to ambassadors from Britain, China, Russia, France, Germany and Switzerland, state-run television said, without disclosing details.

Officials close to the meeting said Iran's response offered the "new formula" to resolve the dispute over Tehran's nuclear activities. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the information.

And the idiots in the world will say, "okay. we'll negotiate" and pat themselves on the back while Ahmadinejad and company continue to build their arsenal.

More delay tactics until they build the BOMB. The Europeans, the Russians and the Chinese will cowardly welcome this deception and delay tactics. It is up to us to say "Screw you Iran", your time for negotiations is up.

Look what Ahmadinejad said just 7 days ago:

If you want to have good relations with the Iranian people in the future, you should acknowledge the right and the might of the Iranian people, and you should bow and surrender to the might of the Iranian people. If you do not accept this, the Iranian people will force you to bow and surrender.

Would this new formula involve guided tours of facilities scheduled 90 days in advance...except for facilities located on sites that are designated as "holy" by the mullahs?

Did WWIII happen last night in Iran... Aug. 22nd, going on Aug. 23rd?

Probably not, because we would win... they know this truth.

Gee, I've been in my bomb shelter clutching my old M-14 in one hand, wearing my aluminum hat and clutching my baby blanky. Rest of the family is still outside doomed to radiation...or so I thought. Uh oh, batteries going dead, generator needs gas and I forgot the DONUTS!!

Is it safe to come out? I'm hungry.:>)

Wasn't the issue to comply or not to comply? What is there to negotiate? They were given an ultimatum and told that they needed to respond by 31 Aug. If they have failed to properly respond their "offer" should be rejected and they should be told that they have until 31 August as previously stated to indicate whether or not they will comply. What they have provided is a "non" response...

Oh damn! What am I thinking? This is the UN... never mind.

Actually, the answer must have come last week when they destroyed all the satellite dishes. Today they announce to their own that Israel has been defeated completely. They blew them off the map, they will say. The flash of light over Jerusalem was spectacular! Nutjob says the twelfth IMAN has returned and taken possession of his body. Everyone must now bow down and worship him!

"Iran's response suggests Iran is committed to dialogue and its promises. ... It is in contrast with America's policy of unilateralism," the television said.

If you do not accept this, the Iranian people will force you to bow and surrender.

The international community has been bowing and surrendering to Iran for 5+ years now, without so much as a twisted arm.
Now it's over, Iran is a nuke state and we're going to have to live with it as we do with North Korea. The exception is that Iran will be forgiven by many much quicker and sanctions will not even be recognized by some due to need for oil.

If I were them, this is PRECISELY what I would do. It would be about my only option. It is the North Korean Method of Extended, Protracted Negotiations (Process Oriented Diplomacy) all the while conducting scurryingly rapid test of nuke capabilities behind the scenes, digging ever deeper to conduct further tests and activites not readily visible.

The story doesn't provide more info than state run television. AP doesn't even say the nation/state. Talk about protecting their sources!

- The country's top nuclear negotiator said Tehran was ready to enter "serious negotiations."

Interesting and very revealing how they term it "serious negotiations."

That is a direct slap to the face of France, Britain and the former Schroeder government of Germany, who had been negotiating with the Iranians over this for years.

Only now the Iranians say they are ready to enter "serious negotiations." Of course it is still BS but will probably succeed in buying even more time from the useless UN.
