Even so, the least whiff of anything, be it personal or professional, being said about a Republican, which can be within an given office or administration and not necessarily the person themselves, and ethics compel them to step down, resign, or in some other way, leave office.

Where are the ethics of the Dem party?? The crimes mount on each and every one of them, and far worse than corruption, including murder and extreme racism? Yet they just continue to pursue office, and refuse to leave.

Fletcher has about the worst PR I've seen in Kentucky politics. If you cannot communicate, you cannot lead. His window of opportunity to get his act together is closing very quickly.

Even though on most policy issues I can find agreement with the governor, the behind the scenes actions of his cronies in attacking Secretary of State Trey Grayson when he merely hinted he would consider a run for governor, including personal attacks from the governor himself, coupled with their effort to shut down a fundraiser for his Secretary of State re-election campaign makes me very reluctant to support Fletcher for another term.

True enough...but that doesn't make the perception this article is trying to give us correct.

There are Republicans who carried the water for years; who supported Nunn against Fletcher, and have been punished because of the free speech they exercised. Fletcher has the stink of indictment on him, and will be defeated by the disaffected Republicans in the spring.

That behind the scence attack, at the behest of the Governor, was led by John McCarthy.

Do you mean to tell me a politician hired people who support his politics? That's not the way we do it in NJ. Our politicians hire whoever gives the best <censored>.

Probably too late to matter. Fletcher won over old-school KY dems who were disenchanted with years of scandal and near scandal. Even if the charges are bogus, the taint remains and will cost him those same votes in the next election.

I am not anti-religious nor am I "left wing." So, in your opinion, the religious right is doing a great job with your tithe in helping people?

Dude, I think you're on crack.

Who "tithes" to "the religious right"??? You talk about it like it's a secret evil organization bent on oppression. I think you need help.

Could you use some more anti-Christian terminology please, I don't think you've covered all the bases.

If you're wondering if believing Christians help people, they sure as Hell do! Religious charitable efforts are massive and extremely effective in innumberable initiatives helping the poor, homeless, sick, prisoners, educating children and adults, caring for expectant mothers, pretty much everything under the sun.

McCarthy, was it? Not a surprise, if true.

Kind of silly, too - Grayson can't use money raised for S.O.S. for a governor's race. Don't they prefer he run for that instead? In addition, it backfired by getting Grayson a lot of positive free media.

This is why it is so important for the Bush Administration to seat as many traditional judges as possible. What Democrats can't accomplish in an honest election they try to do with corrupt judicial officials and judges

True, sadly enough. He and Jeff Speaks are trying to peddle influence with a lobbying firm, but this has really hurt their business. Insiders tell me that the relationship with the Senior Senator from Kentucky has been cut-off.

...and the Senior Senator's wife being a Cabinet Secretary probably doesn't do them any favors either - both of them were prompted to show up at the event together after those shenanigans. Backfired big time.
