The Guardian ^ | August 25 | Ian Traynor

They want everything. I'm underwhelmed by our response so far to it.

I had to excerpt it. Not a long article, interesting analysis of why Iran may still say no, even if we give them everything (it will take years to play out)

If the US spurns the Iranian olive branch
Really? That's the way this writer sees it? An olive branch?

No matter how much the leaders give in to Iran they will always up the Ante. Facts are that Iran is an outlaw nation.

Rome could not buy off the Barbarians. We should not repeat that historical mistake. Iran needs to realize that no country should be allowed to acquire a nuclear capability when it has publicly stated that it intends to completely annihilate another country. Before any compromises can be made, Iran must recognize Israels right to exist.

They made me. FR said I had to, when I tried to excerpt. Said I had to do either 100 words or so, or let it auto-edit.

I know how bad the Guardian is, but it is the first one that popped up when I did a search for what Iran wants... Heard someone today said maybe we can hope China & Russia will abstain in a new resolution. It feels like we are the giant in Gulliver's Travels. These people are pipsqueeks. All of this is tedious. We should not even have to think about it. They've said a dozen times they won't stop. It gives me a headache. Literally.

And they just might pretend to do so.

So the way to "resolve" Irans' defiance of the west is to surrender?

Do the libs really believe that the mullahs would then give up their nuke bomb program????

Who are Iran to demand anything when we could blow them up in a vapor cloud??

We give them nothing, in return for them stopping their nuke program. Remember, North Korea is watching as well.

One must bear in mind in any "negotiations" with Iran:

- we are bound be our cultural values not to bear false witness (to honor our promises and not to lie in negotiations)

- they are bound by their cultural values to deceive the infidels for the advancement of Islam

We could offer them everything we have and they would gladly take it while they continue their nuclear program.

Bump. And all the while they would take comfort from our gullibility to their mendacity...and praise Allah that it is as he planned.
