Former Tennessee Senator and presidential candidate Fred Thompson has been accused of lacking fire to run for the presidency. Seeking to alter that image, Thompson fired away at Chris Wallace of Fox News this morning, accusing the network of being biased against his campaign: Thompson said, "This has been a constant mantra of Fox, to tell you the truth." He noted that other conservatives have praised his bid for the GOP nomination and took issue with a Fox promo that focused on polling in New Hampshire, where Thompson is registering in the single digits. He said he is running second...
Good late morning ping, all.
My punishment is waking up to Mark Penn. Ugh.
Mark Penn tells us there is nothing to worry about. Hillary is going to win, no matter what.
Penn is perfect for Hillary. He’s fat, ugly and a spin master. “She has strength and experience.”
Mark Penn is followed by Ron Paul.
I need to go back to bed.
I was watching some of the low lights of the NoSoPerky One’s puff piece interview with Satan on the Mourning Joe show. They played the clip of Satan saying it was “inevitable” that she would be president while they chuckled about it.
How many times can Mika say “interesting”? It’s not only her favorite adjective, I think it’s the only one she knows.
Good morning, all.
Mika is squeaking. She calls it laughing.
How in the world did Joe Scarborough get elected to anything?
Dumb question, I know. There are plenty of others who get elected over and over who are just as dumb.
Despite the warning from Mark Penn not to even mention the Zogby poll that shows Hillary not doing well against Pubbies, Zogby himself will make an appearance this morning.
Good grief, they are trying to pretend that Rove says that the Congress pushed the Administration into the Iraq war. That is not what he said. All he said was they preferred that they hold off on the vote on the Iraq war resolution.
Ah, you saw that too. They purposes misstated his comments and then played the video to try and prove their point. Pitiful. Willie Guiess shame on you.
Joe always has a lot of political advice. Too bad he's a former congressman. I was wondering this morning how he lost his seat. Was he beat by a RAT or a republican?
Kiran Chetry was all excited about tonight's CNN BoobTube debate. Trying to decide if I'll even watch this Global Warming questions being asked by a snowman level of debate. I'm sure we'll only see the gotcha moments replayed tomorrow. *sigh*
Some young lady who worked for him was found dead in his Florida office. It has also been said that, like John Kasich, he hung out with Gary Condit. He dropped out of politics "voluntarily".

During a campaign swing for his wife, former President Bill Clinton said flatly yesterday that he opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning a statement that is more absolute than his comments before the invasion in March 2003. Before the invasion, Mr. Clinton did not precisely declare that he opposed the war. A week before military action began, however, he did say that he preferred to give weapons inspections more time and that an invasion was not necessary to topple Saddam Hussein. At the same time, he also spoke supportively about the 2002 Senate resolution that authorized military...
He's either deliberately trying to sabotage her campaign or he really is pathological.
I think it may well be deliberate. Just think about it. With an ego like his, would he really want his wife to be elevated to his status?
Good morning, all.
Just a few days before we find out if Imus will be Imus or if he has turned himself into Dr. Phil.
Of course they are going over the debate (wrong word). Huckabee on giving tuition breaks to illegals: We are all God’s children.
Well, so is Kalid Sheik Mohammed. So let’s let him attend Yale, right!
I just cannot warm to the Huckster.
I went back to see who was the first to out this gay general as a CNN plant. Looks like the winner is.
Gen. Keith Kerr is a CNN plant, he has been on CNN talking about this before..
Congrats to Bill Bennet for confronting Anderson Pooper on it during the post debate analysis. Bahbah was that your email Bill got?
LOL. Nope, it wasn’t me. His staff was following the blogs.
IMUS BASHERS FACE VENGEANCE
November 29, 2007 — ALL those politically correct types who piled on last April when Don Imus went down for making his bad “nappy-headed ho’s” joke had better duck and cover on Monday, when the I-Man goes back to work on WABC Radio.
“I think he will have some scores to settle,” the station’s general manager, Phil Boyce, told Page Six yesterday.
It is doubtful Imus will ever forgive CBS chief Les Moonves, who fired him, or regular guest Tim Russert, the host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” who was “an invisible man” while Imus was under attack.
Private eye Bo Dietl, who will join Imus in the 8 a.m. hour on Monday, also named Harold Ford Jr. and Al Roker as two Imus regulars who abandoned him in his hour of need. “They turned their backs on him so fast,” Dietl said yesterday. “Al Roker had his stomach stapled - he should have had his mouth stapled.”
One longtime listener wondered, “Will Imus ever give Newsweek editors another chance to plug their books on his show since they cut and ran when Al Sharpton started his crusade to get him off the air?”
Dietl said Imus’ controversial remark “brought attention to that Rutgers basketball team. They really benefited. It turned out to be a positive thing.” Dietl expects “a kinder, gentler Imus” next week, “but I don’t know how long that will last.”
LOL. I was just coming here to post this.
I really don’t want a “kinder, gentler” Imus.
Does anyone else notice that Joe and Mika seem to hate each other?
LOL...yes. And I can't stand either one of them.
Good Friday morning, ya’ll.
They’re out after Rudy.
Watch Senator John Tester with the sound off and wonder why he is in the US Senate.
Then turn the sound on when he speaks and continue wondering the same thing.
So the crew has decided that this hit on Giuliani is pretty much nonsense and he married the lady anyway, so no big deal.
Then Mika reveals she is trying to get a sit down interview with Judith. Well, there you go.
Happy Monday, all.
It’s the Don Imus debut and I am having trouble streaming wabc.
Going to try again.
The lineup seems to be Doris Kearns Goodwin, John MacCain & Chris Dodd - live from Town Hall in Manhattan - Imus did say Lou & Bernie are back with him.... so is Rob Bartlet and Larry Kinney.
If anyone has the RFD cable channel - they are streaming live on TV
make that McCain - too early I guess
It will be so nice not to have to listen to Mika & Joe
Larry is back! Yaay.
Huge AMEN to that.
Reganesque has a thread which I link to here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1933880/posts
Chris Dodd and the Green Ho coming up.
And here’s John McCain. McCain has promised that he will win in New Hampshire. We’ll see.
McCain needs to drop the “my friend” business.
Don Imus is still one of the best interviewers in the business. One of the others is Brit Hume. Two such different people.
Interesting that they are doing a live show from Radio City Music Hall? Didn’t hear a peep about that beforehand.
I heard Bill Bennet would be a guest on Mourning Joe. Maybe Erin Burnett will apologize again for her Monkey comments.
Joe started the show discussing how Satan is going to go negative in Iowa because she's looooooosing. Mika was sad.
Even I’ve tuned in this morning to hear Imus. I’m not a huge Imus fan- but I was furious about the whole spectacle and the way he was treated.
Arrggghh, he just has to have his wife on. Ugh!
yuk - but she’s still better than Mika or Fox & Friends
LOL. I see we are of one mind on that.
Hmmm, the crowd does not seem to like that snake, Harold Ford, Jr.
Oh noes. Not the “White Ho” already! Wonder if WABC can monitor how many people are turning them off right now.
I THOUGHT I heard that...but..my ears couldn’t believe it:)
Sen. Dudd is still delusional about his presidential aspirations. Something I heard locally is that someone gave him a lot of money for his campaign even knowing he’s got NO CHANCE. Hey at least he’s out of our state for a while. You never see him around here until election year anyways.
Bo on now.
Overall I'd give Imus a "C" for his first day back. Let's see what his grade is at the end of the week.
Don Imus at New York's Town Hall during his return to radio today.
Good morning on day 2 of the return of the Iman.
Lots of talk (and sadness)yesterday about Curtis Sliwa being bumped to bring Don back.
Having some technical problems this morning.
LOL. They can’t hear each other and Imus isn’t sure they are even on the air. Can barely hear Bernard, Lou comes through loud and clear but Imus apparently can’t hear him.
Now I remember why this program used to drive me nuts. Chris Dodd would be a fine president...come on.
