Woman Escorted From Maryland High School

A Maryland substitute teacher was arrested after an alleged anti-Shinto tirade in front of high school students.

Carol Joan McVey, 49, was charged with resisting arrest, trespassing, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Police said McVey became upset when she heard some students at Gaithersburg High School, who were being assisted by another teacher, practicing a speech and using some Japanese words.

The Washington Post said she reacted after overhearing the group utter an Japanese greeting of peace.

Charging documents allege McVey shouted, "Shinto doesn't mean peace, it means Japan should rule the world!" and "Because of you, our families died at Pearl Harbor!"

It's not known if anyone who heard the remarks is Shinto.

Authorities said McVey went to the school office to express her displeasure about the speech and the assisting teacher and was told by the principal that her services were no longer needed at the school

Police said she refused to leave and was escorted from the school by the educational facilities officer.

While being escorted from the building, McVey allegedly yelled at a German teacher about the inappropriateness of speaking to students in languages other than English.

Once the substitute teacher was outside, police said she allegedly tried to re-enter the school and the school's educational facilities officer attempted to place her under arrest, but she resisted and an additional officer was called to assist.

Police said McVey was released on her own recognizance.

Even those with a national forum cautions about "taking matters into your hands". Hannity had a caller yesterday who personally took some people to task over illegals. There was some kind of shouting match but no violence, I believe. Hannity said outright that we shouldn't confront these people...let the "authorities" handle the problem....I suppose in order not to get hurt.

I was kind of shocked, for I too believe that if we leave the problem with the "authorities"..nothing will be done....just like the "progress" of the last 30 years.

Illegals are forcing actions which will really bum them out IMO.

but I recall distinctly that, in 6th grade public school, the only religion I learned about was Islam.

I had a nun in the 3rd grade (1948) who was an expert on Islam and spent time on the subject.

You forget a lot in sixty years but the one thing I remember id her description of the sword on the Saudi flag.

She told us that the sword represents the sword of Muhammed by which Islam will be spread throughout the world.

Never forgot it.
