??? I don't even see any posts from "mmyers", nor any deleted posts. Did I miss something? Probably on some other thread .... ever posted a reply to the wrong thread? Embarassing but it happens; usually pretty funny as well since it makes a wonderful non-sequitur moment :)

Those kind of "Grandpa types" should just spend their entire day down at the local Costco or Sam's club where they can eat all the free samples they can fit in their stomachs.
I feel like I'm visiting the local soup kitchen when I go to Costco anymore.

No doubt about it. I don't eat anything from the grocery store like that and my children know the same thing. Even when they do the sampling setups, nope, we don't take samples...we have no idea who or what has been preparing the samples.
Just the carts alone are nasty.

Deadly spinach, fist fights breaking out in the produce isle; the safe thing to do is go with a totally carnivore diet.

It would have never crossed my mind to 'sample' any food in the store that I hadn't paid for. Seems like theft is theft, though perhaps it might have been a tradition in some places years ago that a shopkeeper would allow a bit of sampling? Never heard of it anyplace I've lived.

Exactly my thoughts.
I'm an RN. I suppose ignorance is bliss! Heh heh!
We grow as much of our produce as we can and buy our fruit from a farm in a town nearby (which I still wash like crazy).

Did you click on the wrong reply inadvertantly? #8 doesn't seem outlandish at all to me.
Would you please explain why you singled out #8, so we all can avoid the same error, whatever it was?
Thank you.
