Did you click on the wrong reply inadvertantly? Yes. An apology and corrected warning was posted.

See post #9. There is no post #9. I see a skip from #8 to #10. Strange...

Ah, thank you, Cagey. After reading Admin's correction, I couldn't find an mmeyers post anywhere on the thread. It really got smoked, 'cause it's completely gone, as if it never was.

For some reason your post made me think of the Brock's candy display that had a coin box so you could pay for any samples and I don't recall seeing those in quite a while. It always seemed like a good way for the company to say their candy was so good that they knew you would have to sample it. Does anyone know if any grocery chains still do this?

It took me awhile to notice it gone too.

Can you imagine some person with a bad case of crotch rot that they've been digging at with their nails all morning coming in the store and picking up that fruit and then putting it down Thats an image I don't need in my head......

It would have never crossed my mind to 'sample' any food in the store that I hadn't paid for.Same here.

Deadly spinach, fist fights breaking out in the produce isle; the safe thing to do is go with a totally carnivore diet. Really. Who needs the vegetable isle. Vegetables are what food eats!

But it's apparently because Griffin was snacking on unbought grapes that she wound up facing felonies.
No...that was just what got the store personnel's attention. Yet another poorly written story...

try ONE grape from each type that you intend to actually buy
I tried something similar in the beer aisle once. Man did I ever get sick...

Reminds me of a funny Erma Bombeck story. She was shopping with a toddler in tow, and while distracted, the little one feasted on a quantity of grapes. When lambasted by the grocer, Bombeck offered to weigh the child, and pay any charges in excess of 30 pounds. :0)
