Actually , They have explicit sexual emails crap sent by Foley to the kid . Drudge has a link to the explicit stuff.
The worst thing is that we can lose this seat, that is all.
We are absolutely committed to child safety! Mark Foley is not welcome in the Republican Party and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But these e-mails are over a year old. How long ago did the dems find out that Foley was a predator? Why didn't THEY blow the whistle and help us remove this guy before we exposed MORE children to him?
It appears that the St. Petersburg Times covered the e-mail story in Nov. 2005. I have a feeling that the AOL IM are the smoking gun.

Foley's opponent, Tim Mahoney, is in much worse shape financially than indicated. His last FEC filing has cash on hand of $343,755 but debts of $226,000.

I heard Major Garrett say on Fox News...that it would have to be a "write in" candidate on the GOP side...to take Foley's place.
Kind of like in Tom Delay's case...it has to be write-in..which pretty much means it will be a dem...in both cases.

MEMPHIS — The Republican candidate has withdrawn from the race to fill the state Senate seat vacated by former Sen. Kathryn Bowers.
The withdrawal by Michael Floyd leaves Democrat Reginald Tate the only candidate on the Nov. 7 ballot in the heavily Democratic district.

The only silver lining is that the Foley stuff will intefere with coverage of other junk, like the Abramoff-Rove links or Woodward's new hit-piece book.
The public can only digest so much. Besides there are still a few weeks till Nov. 7. For example, what if...the names of the NSA leakers werer to come out soon? That would overwhelm all of this stuff (we can only hope).
Very strange law, but I hope that the GOP will make it clear to the voters who is the replacement candidate.

Sounds like it might be about time to drop the "maybe he's just a really friendly guy" theory.
It would be great if this incident would lead to a through cleaning and expulsion of all the login cabin Repubs from the GOP, what a joke. Republicans are a big tent, but they dont the perverts in the tent.
