Lisa....I am sure when your son said he could find someone, he meant it....no reason for you to feel guilty.

What if YOU were ill?? He wouldn't expect you to travel..and wouldn't want you to give it to the baby.

I am sure they know how much this means to you, to be there for CT...and this can be their "donation" to the cause.

You are under a lot of stress...and you feel like the world is on your shoulders...but, your granddaughter will be okay with someone else right now.

Prayers for you and CT....and give him our love...and please don't hesitate to post again...rambling is good when you are stressed....you need to get it out.

We care about you...and will listen anytime.

God Bless you both....sleuth

Chin up!

I am sure your family understands and we certainly do, too.

Thoughts and prayers to all of you.

Your kids are grown and can (I would think) find some friends or neighbor ladies that would help for a short time.

As a mom, I always felt my kids came first. As a first time Grandma, I've felt the same. My son and his wife are very choosy about who they let care for my granddaughter. They recently located to Columbus, and only have my daughter and son in law locally, and my neice, who just went through a difficult pregnancy, and has a newborn, to babysit. I have been making the trip to watch my Granddaughter when needed.

I'm sure that they will ask my niece to watch my Granddaughter, if she's able, but that doesn't mean that I don't wish I could be two places at once.At the end of the day, I will be there for CT, or go back and forth so I can care for them both. It's not just about my time, I have other issues.

God forbid anything happened to you, but what was their big plans if you caught a major flu and had to avoid them for two weeks?

If they **brought** the baby to a niece it shouldn't be that bad. I had a friend have a baby on Thursday and she was running around on Saturday visiting folks for hours. Depends on the person.

Follow what your little voice inside tells you to do.

Do what you want to.

First of all...GET SOME SLEEP! You'll be able to think better as well as cope with the stress. Things may not seem as insurmountable after a good night's sleep. Take care of yourself or you're going to end up in worse shape than CT.

Both you and CT are in our prayers. Just remember to take care of the caretaker - YOU. You simply must! You would give that same advice to someone else in your situation.

you have to take it easy, LisaMalia .. don't want a prayer thread up for you!

If your son can make other arrangements for that one night, I'd let him try .. if not, keep your babysitting commitment.

Otherwise, I'd give priority for right now to Common Tator.

All best wishes

Great to hear from you! Tell the Tator that we have a couple weeks' worth of abuse all stored up for him...

It is easier to be strong for those you love than to be strong for yourself...until it kills you. Get some rest, and God Bless.

Excuse me if I seem to be rambling, I'm so very tired. And again, thank you for all your kind words.

Please continue to keep CT in your prayers.

Umm, Lisa, howzabout a prayer for you and your family too?

I hope it doesn't sound like stalking or anything, but can some Freeper who lives in Lisa's state order her a couple of pizzas?

...please keep us posted.

Cheers!

My son said he understands, and they can try to make other arrangements, but I feel like I am letting them down.

Please allow others to do things for you, too. To do otherwise would be to block their love for you.

Thank you so much for your updates, LisaMalia.

While my prayers have been with Common Tator,
they will now include you, as well.

Please...take care of yourself.

Thank you for the pings!

I will pray for the BOTH of you. You need to keep your self nourished and also give your body a chance to rest. Lack of nourishment and rest and negative thoughts will only make your stress even worse. Nourish your body and get some rest and God will take care of all that which is impossible.

You are not letting anyone down. Don't think that, don't even say that. :)

God loves you, your kids and family love you, and all of us FReepers who are your extended family love you.

He wants to come home, and will be able to see his oncologist here in town, and get his treatments and any physical therapy needed on an out patient basis. His step-son is bring him home tomorrow evening, and I will be there waiting to help him get back on his feet and make a full recovery.

Thank You, Father and Giver, for these answers to prayer, and thank You most of all that all these things are bringing thanksgiving and glory and praise to Your Name! Hallowed be Thy Name!

Family first. If CT has others who can be there for him until you are free to visit, then I am sure he will understand.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
~Isaiah 26:3

Sometimes our Faithful God allows us to see only one step at a time. Because He is trustworthy, take the one step. The next step will appear as you take it!

It sounds like two kinds of rest would be helpful for you, dear Lisa:
rest in bed; rest in God!

These are my prayers for you, with great thanksgiving for all that God has already accomplished through you!
