Montgomery (AP) - Police say a 34-year-old Montgomery man was shot and killed when he allegedly attacked a 72-year-old man Friday night in west Montgomery.

Captain Huey Thornton, a police spokesman, said Jack Sanchez was pronounced dead around 10 p-m. Thornton said the shooting occurred after Sanchez kicked the man's truck as he drove by. He said when the older man got out to inspect his vehicle, Sanchez attacked him.

Police did not release the shooter's name because he was not arrested.

Thornton said the case will be sent to a grand jury to determine if any charges are warranted.

More info needed from this incident. Unfortunately, the story is too sketchy.

Sounds to me like Senor Sanchez picked on the wrong old man.

Yeah, but there's a good chance one of Sanchez' last thoughts was something along the lines of, "I just got whacked by an old dude."

In a liberal world of total gun-control, this would have been just another unsolved violent crime where the criminal won. Sounds like Sanchez picked on the Charles Bronson character, Paul Kersey, in Death Wish. Justice in an instant.

How do we know the geezer didn't almost run over poor old Sanchez? I've had the urge to kick many a car.

It doesn't even say that gramps had a bloody nose. Was Sanchez packing heat?

It doesn't sound right. Is gramps related to someone big in local law enforcement?

You can't just jump out of your car and shoot an unarmed man to death because he kicked your car.

No, but you should be able to if he attacks you when you stop to check your vehicle!

Actually, I disagree. The story is simple.

Bad guy lives a life of crime and risks his life every day. Bad guy tests fate once too many times. Good guy (not politically correct) uses weapon when threatened by bad guy. Bad guy is shot and killed. Good guy wins.

I actually find this to be a heartwarming story. More details would only ruin it.

:)

Hmmmm. I've never felt like kicking a moving vehicle. Just the thought of having my leg ripped off is deterent enough for me.

"You can't just jump out of your car and shoot an unarmed man to death because he kicked your car." The article stated that poor young Sanchez attacked the elderly gentleman when he got out of his car to inspect for damage.
