This is a Margay. A medium to large sized Cat prevalent to the Americas, though more South than North. Noted for its Bengal like leopard-like spots, long striped tail and ability to climb and live in trees!

I babysat as a teenager for a couple that was owned by a couple of free roaming (in the house) ocelots. This animal does not look the same.
That house sure stunk. Ocelots just love to mark their territory.
