My ears have been ringing since the ammo dump at Danang blew during the first night of TET 1968. One week ago today, VA finally got me hearing aids. Yesterday for the first time since that ammo dump blew up I heard a bird sing. Heard more while at the VA hospital in L.A. today.

MSNBC reporter Richard Engel is saying a local militia group is taking credit for the 'attack'.

US Military has not confirmed above information.

"A army standing still is a disaster waiting to happen. Conservatives more than anyone used to understand this."

So important, it bears repeating . . .

No just venting that weve fought this thing with one hand behind our backs, in a pc fashion and appear to be no better off than we were the first month of occupation. By no means am I anti war. I want full scale scare the shi-ite out of them war campaigns that leave marks.

Fire erupts at U.S. ammo depot in Iraq

By LEE KEATH
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A massive fire broke out at an ammunition depot at a U.S. base in southeast Baghdad on Tuesday night, setting off multiple explosions, the U.S. military said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The blasts from ammunition detonating in the depot at Forward Operating Base Falcon went off for hours afterward, sending up huge flashes of light on the horizon that were visible several miles away in central Baghdad, where the force of the explosions could be felt. Some of the blasts came in rapid succession, sending fiery streaks into the air over the city.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known, said Lt. Col, Christopher C. Garver, a military spokesman.

Authorities are "trying to determine the cause or any threat to the population," Garver said.

Falcon is located in a former commercial trucking depot in a sprawling industrial area at the southern entrance of Baghdad, near the violence-torn district of Dora, where U.S. troops have been focusing in a two-month-old sweep of the capital neighborhood-by-neighborhood aimed at rooting out militants and weapons.

This makes me want to say let loose the dogs of war and we'll see who is still standing at the end.

Meantime, prayers up for those trying to contain the fires.
