He has suffered a massive stroke and heart attack.

We know that many of you will have questions, but as of right now we don't have any further information.

My continued prayers for Tonkin. He got hit with a double whammy.

My husband had a stroke in 2001, caused from a bleed through in the brain. He was paralyzed on the left side and had problems finding the right words to say. He was in rehab at the hospital for a month. With determination he has overcome it and was able to drive again, although it has slowed him down a lot. He was fortunate in that his heart problems were caught early. 3 bypasses and an artificial Aortic valve done in 1993. He has had to be on Coumadin since the artificial valve and that was a factor in his bleed through in the brain.

Thanks for update. Local radio just interviewed woman who was unhappy with unsuccessful recovery from stroke and went to China; apparently there is an effective stroke recovery program there.

Her name is Ruth Lycke and her story is told at the link. She was a convincing interviewee and the interviewer is a shrewd and unconnable cookie.
