NOPE! He is a COWARD!
"Wonder if they're be a possibility for Irey to stage an "empty chair" debate? She could take questions from a moderator or the audience. I've never seen it done with a single candidate, but if Murta won't show, why not?"
I think your idea is a good one....if she can still get the TV folks to air it live.
I don't see how he could debate. He just keeps on saying the same things. In a debate with Diana, he'd run out of sound-bites after about 3 minutes. What would he do for the next hour, yodel?, fall asleep? :-)
win or lose....she is a hottie!!!!
Little guns and resources would be helpful. Allow me to introduce you to the PA GOP Chairman, Robert Gleason, Jr.
Gleason is a diversified corporation comprised of three complementary companies: Gleason Insurance, Gleason Financial and Gleason Technology. From creating unique insurance programs to revolutionizing facility inspection processes, Gleason consistently provides innovative and cost efficient solutions to a diverse national client list.
Robert A. Gleason, Jr. Chairman and CEO
In 2000, Rob served as Chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, an organization that represents the 300 largest insurance brokers in the United States. The Council places 80% - more than $90 billion - of the commercial property/casualty insurance premiums in the United States. They also provide industry leadership, visible and effective representation before government, executive training and agency management programs.
This gives new meaning to Mr. Gleason's past comments, IMO. He is decidedly working against the Republican challenger. WHY??? Is he afraid the BACON won't land in HIS frying pan unless Murtha is there to throw it in?
"We're all kind of perplexed," said Robert Gleason Jr., an insurance executive and chairman of the local Republican committee, who said he had put aside party loyalties and voted for Murtha in the past.
"I think Jack is a good guy," said Robert Gleason, chairman of the Cambria County Republican Committee. "He has helped our community. He has been the king of appropriations. He has gotten a lot of great things here. This town would be a ghost town without him."
And no doubt you and your family would be a bit poorer, hey Mr. Gleason. There needs to be an investigation as to how much back scratching is going on between the "Gleason Group" and the "king of appropriations."
The people in this congressional district, they will vote for a Republican, Gleason said. Having said that, its a steep mountain to climb running against John Murtha because hes brought home the bacon.

It is a steep mountain because you, and those like you, have piled on to make that mountain steep as opposed to supporting the Republican challenger!!!
Robert Gleason said he often faces questions about whether his political ties help his firm win government or other insurance business.
He declined to say whether he thinks those ties help, but he said: "Can't they pick who they want to? I know everybody and I contribute to everybody . . . [but] I consider myself a terrific insurance guy, not a politician. Hey, I deliver."

Mr. Gleason does not have to say whether he thinks those ties help. It is not rocket science...all the facts are laid out before our eyes.

I can call her Diana can't I, after all she did hug me...lol
Thanks for the heads up IT
Yep, makes me wonder why Murtha won't release one of the many polls (spit) that he has undoubtedly taken by now.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Although I favor and strongly support Irey, complaints about not debating are most frequently made by the candidate that is losing.
I take it as an indication of weakness.
Works for me! ;*)
Beauty baiting the beast?
Diana Irey BUMP!!! I have the deepest respect for her and I pray the PA voters are smart enough to vote for her.
Would that be any different than if he DID show? ;*)
There once was a congressman named Jack,
Who really was a Pelosi hack,
He wouldn't debate,
His military hate,
Or the yellow stripe down his back.
Have the folks there had enough,
Of this hoser's hardy bluff,
Poor Jack has no class,
In fact he can kiss my a**,
'Cause like most I've had enough.
This ditty is offered to all who support the truth and honesty not being offered by Jack Murtha. Be like a democrat on election day, vote early and vote often! :0 )

I worry about our democracy. A successful democracy depends on people knowing what's good for them so they can vote for the right people.
Not many of us know what's good for us. Some days, I feel as though I don't know anything about anything. I read the newspaper and try to decide who the good politicians leading us are, but too often the ones I thought were good end up disappointing me
"Rep. John Murtha fooled me. I didn't know a lot about him but he seemed like an able and honest politician. It turns out Murtha is the biggest wheeler-dealer in Congress. Everyone who knows him says it makes less difference to Murtha whether something is right or wrong, good or bad, ethical or un-, than whether it's a smart deal for him and his political friends.
"I'm left with one less politician I can admire and a shaken confidence in my own ability to choose the right people."
-- Andy Rooney, nationally syndicated columnist, October 6, 2006
Well, I certainly picked up on that! Thugs verbally assaulting folks trying to check into the local hotels when they found out they were Irey supporters.
Locals were afraid to go to the Boot Murtha rally Oct. 1 as there "eyes" watching to see who went in and out of the arena.
One of the locals was telling me that when Murtha blabs about how many jobs he has brought to the district, no one asks how many jobs he has LOST in the district. He said that in 32 YEARS of Murtha, the district has a net gain of 3000 jobs. Those jobs are no where near the "good" jobs that were lost.
For starters .................
Andy Rooney nailed that one. He should move to the 12th, he could then vote for Diana and be proud.
Still, my favorite poll (spit) continues to be this one.
(CBS/AP) A new poll indicates Senator John Kerry is ahead of President Bush by six percentage points in Florida, with most voters questioning the president's handling of the economy and the war in Iraq. The poll for The Miami Herald and the St. Petersburg Times said 49 percent of the 800 registered Florida voters surveyed would choose Kerry. It says 43 percent would pick Mr. Bush, while only five percent are undecided. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/03/08/politics/main604738.shtml
ROTFLOL!!!
