Denying any involvement in the aforementioned.
There is hope. It's certain that each generation does it's best to offend the previous. I can think of nothing more offensive to the MTV mob than becoming a Christian and demanding integrity and decency in ourselves.
Boy that's for sure.
Changing the music at the dances would change the dancing. They could hire one of the bands I play in :) Here we are on youtube. Nobody could freek dance to our music :)

Another gift of MTV to the youth of our nation..../sarc
The opposite of MTV isn't Christian...
"On Election night, Democrats hope to dance "The Monica."
The dance is performed where voters get on their knees and open their mouths, and Democrats stand in front of them."
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
You're right. The opposite of MTV (2006) is MTV (1983). Why the heck do they even bother keeping the "M" anymore?
However, your underlying point (as I understand it) is false. People who really have Christ in their hearts (as opposed to those who merely say they are "Christian"), do and say things that the "worldly" look at as downright weird (think the Amish). MTV is about as "worldly" as you get (materialistic, shallow, hedonistic).
You don't think the PA Amish - who raised money for the family of their children's KILLER - you don't see the contradistinction between them and the girls on "My Super Sweet 16"?

Actually, you make a better point.
My point was that MTV is very mainstream (owned by Viacom and all that). The opposite of MTV would be the fringe stuff that is only played in clubs.
But there's a double standard. Many seem to be saying "That's just what teenager's do: try to shock their parents". They give the teenagers a pass.
However, isn't "Being shocked and outraged" what parents "do"? Doesn't that come with the job description? Why don't they get a pass?
Hey...I remember you!
ping...
what do we expect? we allowed this. 24 hours a day of trash on three channels of MTV. this sleaziness has really taken over our culture. i am constantly amazed. just look at cleavage and the current fashions....holy cow. i work for the military and i (as a woman) am shocked some days at how much skin is shown in the office. i am not even sure the guys in my office know how to deal with it, because it is so in your face.
I used to live in Seattle, but moved to Dunedin, New Zealand for a few years to watch from the sidelines. And, I've got two little kids who I want to have a childhood.
