CNN Blasted, Praised Over Sniper Video(Despicable & Treasonous!)
SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE ^ | October 21, 2006 | Steve Schmidt

CNN's decision to air a video showing snipers targeting U.S. troops in Iraq provoked both rage and praise yesterday, with some calling it a brave move by the cable network and others labeling it a propaganda coup for terrorists.

“This is nothing short of a terrorist snuff film,” said Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad. “I think CNN should recognize it made a terrible mistake and pull it.” Bilbray, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista, sent a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld asking him to yank any CNN reporters embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq.

“They don't deserve to be with American Marines and soldiers,” said Hunter, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, at a news conference he and Bilbray held yesterday in downtown San Diego. CNN “can't decide which side they're on.”

Jeffrey Dvorkin, executive director of the Committee of Concerned Journalists in Washington, said CNN “did an important journalistic job in reporting this.”

“It's enormously important that Americans have a very clear sense of what our military is going through in Iraq,” Dvorkin said. “It's one of the better pieces of war reportage I've ever seen.”

A Defense Department spokesman yesterday declined to comment on the issue.

The cable channel began airing portions of the chilling video Wednesday night on “Anderson Cooper 360,” after what a network official described as an intense internal discussion over its news value.

“Whether or not you agree with us in this case, our goal, as always, is to present the unvarnished truth as best we can,” wrote CNN producer David Doss in a blog entry about the taped footage, which was still available on CNN.com last night.

Personal calls and emails of outrage to CNN and our elected officials (airheads) is the least we can do. Dumping their stock is the first order of business for anyone that owns stock in the parent company.

" I have already contacted my senator"

I would do the same but we've got the Dumb & Dumber, the Leftist Twins, Boxer & Feintstein...
so a lot of good it would do to contact them...
but "Surfer Boy" Rohrabacher is my congressman, so I'll contact him today!

Reminds me of the speech that Nicholson gave in his role as Col. Nathan Jessup in A Few Good Men:

"...I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!"

CNN...questioning the manner in which the blanket of freedom they operate under is provided.

getting a list of CNN's advertisers and boycotting them might be the ticket...
hitting them in the wallet!
It sure worked against the Left Angeles Times!
They've been firing people left and right, circulation numbers and advertising revenue are both down BIG TIME!

“It's enormously important that Americans have a very clear sense of what our military is going through in Iraq,”

Dishonest code for “It's enormously important that Anti-Americans have a very clear sense of what our military is going through in Iraq.Thank you Time Warner”

hey, lets not kid ourselves, since you have the screen name of the most wrongly reported battle in American history;
CNN is an enemy of America and anyone who thinks otherwise has not been paying attention!

If anyone can obtain a list of CNN's advertisers, I would greatly appreciate those advertisers being posted here so we can all boycott them!

I am sick of outfits like CNN and Leftists doing what they please to smear American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines and profiting by airing and publicizing anti-American propaganda!

Semper Fi,
Kelly

Go to Youtube.
Do a search for snipers and one can find dozens of videos of US / allied troops getting picked off.

I tried to watch the video and could only get the sound...which I now can't get rid of on my computer. =\

It was sick just listening to the reporter describing it. God help our soldiers to have to endure this.

Fox & Friends Sunday AM team (Kelly, Kiran and Allison, I believe) could hardly keep from holding their noses as they spoke quite contemptuously about it. They felt that Fox News would NEVER air such a tape, and they agreed that it shouldn't be aired.

The worst thing about this, imo, is that CNN GOT IT FROM THE INSURGENTS. Hello. If they had filmed it accidentally, I don't think they would look quite as despicable for airing it. (Well, almost, but not quite!) Because by playing a tape that terrorists gave them FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIRING, they are propaganda tools for the enemy.

And the reason they profess nothing to be wrong with it is that many at CNN are happy to be used.

First let's agree on the target.
Forget about CNN...focus on the head of Time Warner, Dick Parsons.
I know , I know, he's an African American !!!
How convenient.

Ask me if I care.

Go for the head Kelly.

"Because by playing a tape that terrorists gave them FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIRING, they are propaganda tools for the enemy."

sounds like "aiding and abetting" to me...
now lets see if charges of treason are filed by AG Gonzales...
I won't be holding my breath!

I'm with you. Something needs to be done to show our disgust with American traitors. We owe it to our soldiers and to our fathers and forefathers who gave their last measure of devotion to our country and to our survival.

Consider contacting your cable or satellite provider and telling them how you feel about a station that takes a portion of your payments each month.

That's what I did today and the guy that works there is just as ticked off as we are and is working to get "upper management" to send a message to CNN saying they are not wanted by their customers.

"None of them have left the Green Zone in weeks."

Exactly. It is half because they have already drawn their conclusions before seeing the situation (because they believe terrorist propaganda over releases from PAO's) and half because they're too scared to leave the green zone, making excuses for this such as "we don't have enough security."

Of course the bastards don't have enough security! The Generals need to be politically correct and cordial with them, but the Soldiers don't. They know their enemy and it's THE MEDIA. Of course it is getting tougher to find units that are willing to provide security for a group of anti-American pinkos who are looking for footage that they can use to take a cheap shot at the US military.

But, back to the sniper videos, the airing of videos like this by the media doesn't bother me as much as their past injustices. They've done far more outrageous things, such as endlessly slapping Abu Ghraib photos on the front page of the newspaper, over, and over, and over; inventing stories about flushing the Koran down the toilet; misrepresenting the actions of a Marine justifiably shooting a wounded terrorist in Fallujah; and so on. Then, after deliberately using those sensationalized "stories" to incite the Arab world, they have the audacity to ask questions like "why do they hate us?" and act surprised when the NIE concludes that our presence in the mideast has motivated fence-sitters to oppose us. Gee, I wonder why, when the media has worked 24/7 for 3 years to misrepresent why we're there, what we're doing, and consistently worked to portray this as another Vietnam from day one. At some point, people start to believe what they hear - especially when the people hearing it grew up in a mudhut, living in their own feces and filth, and were raised to believe in fairy tales and myths ranging from Muhammed to the 12th Imam to Jews eating babies.

The sad thing is that it doesn't need to be this way. That's not to simply bemoan the reality of having a traitorous establishment media. It's foolish and pointless to bemoan reality. What's sad is that nobody wants to recognize and deal with reality. Reality is that the media is our enemy. It is foolish, and potentially suicidal, to pretend that your enemy is your friend as he repeatedly plunges a knife into your back. The military has attempted to make the best possible working relationship with the media, but you can no more have a working relationship with the media than you can have a working relationship with a suicide bomber.

The media in this country is a Star Wars bar scene of anti-American scumbags, traitors, seditionists, liars, crooks, and perverts (much like congress, I might add) who should be locked up indefinitely. We need to bring back internment camps and put every Muslim, journalist, and codepink weirdo in there until no earlier than we leave Iraq and Afghanistan, regardless of how long that may be. So-called "journalists" in Iraq should be fare game, just like any other terrorist is. They're both part of the same enemy force.

Other than that, I have ho strong feelings on this subject.

Isn't that special.... the Committee of Concerned Journalists is a left wing association that many CNN personnel belong to. Journalists are now citing journalists to defend journalists.
