A Return to Triangulation (libertarion vs social right)
National Review Online ^ | 10/25/06 | David Boaz & David Kirby

Posted on 10/25/2006 11:10:46 AM PDT by Blackirish

As the Republican base fragments and Christian conservatives consider a “fast” from politics, the polling data point to a mid-term Republican thumping. Less than two weeks from now, Republicans will begin their post-mortem soul searching. And as the corpses of their House and Senate majorities grow cold, so should Karl Rove’s 2006 campaign strategy.

I would hardly expect it to be any other way. Why should any of you care what I think?

Conversely, of course, why should I care what any of you think?

The Left has constantly used science, art, etc., as political tools to the detriment of science, art, etc. It's sad to see the Right attempt to do the same. Or maybe it's the Triangulation Strategy?

The ones I have seen are. And if YOU can't figure that out, then you need a good remedial reading course. One in logic would also help. ;^)

What are you talking about? I was in the bookstore a while back and sat down and read about half of Godless while I was waiting on my wife. I've enjoyed Coulter's polemics in the past, but her latest book was crap. It exemplifies everything I've been saying on this thread about making the conservative movement hostile to modern science. Surely you are not say that giving her latest book the thumbs down is the same as destroying freedom of worship?

You're just flat wrong on this issue. Evolutionary theory is foundational to our understanding of biology. It is part of science's toolkit for understanding the physical world. It is no more hostile to Christianity or Judaism than a hammer or inclined plane. I mean, come on. The ACLU uses math. Does that mean algebra is part of the homosexual agenda?

The word "evofundy" is neutral???

Would you swear to that in a court of law?

You are going to sit there and blatantly lie like that?

Damn. I should stop being shocked by you people's lies.

BTW, many of these people that have been banned are hard working scientists... one of whom is currently engaged in research to thwart terrorists.

Care to name names? As to your antiterrorism points, I work on the B-1B. We drop bombs on terrorists.

A lot of the *venting* is coming from people with the same screen names as active FR accounts. It's not just a matter of banned FReepers blowing off steam. It's backstabbing by current freepers.

Insults like "evofundie?"

No, more like *cretard* which is used pretty regularly over at DC. How clever...

They try. But it doesn't make the science suspect if it is backed by tremendous amounts of evidence, like evolution.

And don't imply that I attack believers, because I do believe in God.

If the left decided to "embrace" the flag, it wouldn't sully it either.

It's not luck it called leadership.

I guess I'm just not motivated enough to enforce that sort of orthodoxy, and call it "leadership". Sorry again.

You have an anti-freeper website.

Would you care if I suggested that this website was "anti-Darwin Central"? Should you?

Shallow people rarely care about or think about anyone but themselves. Case in point presented here.
