In a posting by the #1 idiot (David Allen - AKA Skinner) over at Dark Underworld, he advises his fellow kool-aid drinkers that they have had two inquiries by the Secret Service earlier today.
As someone who occasionally strolls by their web site for a few gut-busting laughs, I'm not suprised comments on their site would arouse the attention of the boys in black.
Here's a snip from his post to their members...In the five-plus years since Democratic Underground was started, we have had legal issues arise on a fairly regular basis (Not surprising). When that happens, we almost never make any sort of public comment about it.... But an issue (an issue?) has come up this week which we feel we should probably share with you (ya think?), because we think you should know what we are doing to protect your personal information. (This idiot is more concerned about protecting the privacy of his members, than the threats his members made on the President!)
... Fortunately the members of DU are generally level-headed (hardly) and respectful of the rules, so we have not had any problems with this issue in the past. (Then why all the legal problems?) But today we have had two separate inquiries from the Secret Service about posts on our website. (haha)
The inquiries involved three posts by two separate visitors (You mean Members) to our website. Incidentally, both of the people in question were banned last week (yeah, right) -- before we were aware that the Secret Service was looking into their postings. ..
The United States Secret Service has asked Democratic Underground to hand over any identifying or personal information we have about the two individuals in question.
What really scares me is what if in 2006 or 2008 there are really close elections and things get dragged out for months in the courts and finally the loonier elements decide it is time to get violent if they don't get their way. Once enough people have that mentality America will at best be just a large banana republic.
I'm glad to hear it. God bless our President and the Secret Service men and women who take on the responsibility and burden of keeping him and his family safe.
A couple years back I had the opportunity to send a url for a t-shirt to the Secret Service. I got to talk to the nice agents at two different offices.
I lurked here daily for nearly three years before I "signed up" officially because I was convinced that the Scumbag Administration was entirely capable of finding out who posters were and siccing the IRS on them the way they sicced the IRS on other conservative groups in those years.
You will notice that my official sign-up day is the day Gore finally conceded.
That's the day I finally felt safe from the Scumbag Administration.
Good job, Ingtar. If I thought for one minute that someone was threatening our President, I'd report it in a heartbeat. And that goes for ALL of our Presidents regardless of party affiliation. Anyone who would threaten the life of our President, serious or not (but how do you know until you check it out?), deserves a personal visit from the Secret Service.
DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!
NO more calls, please.
We have a winner!
LOL - ten minutes after the interview with the home office, the site was unreachable. I was seriously impressed.
I was audited by the IRS.
You must take your medication, Ms Dhimmicrat, you simply must. No, your doctor already made this decision. Take the pill, dammit! Canada is another country!
Don't forget that in Klintoon's admin, if he didn't like you, you commited suicide or worse.
You just caused a real life double shudder.
MissAmerica and Senate Whipoorwill.
Thanks for posting this. Every day I think that liberals can't get any lower I read something on DU and I realize that I'm wrong.
Oh yeah - I remember them. So do a few others around here, and we don't want it happening again!
NO HILDABEASTE IN '08, PLEASE!!..............FRegards
