I'm GLAD this came out. Anyone who thinks their life is not an open book should not run for political office. I think the potential, fair or not (and I think that it is fair), is for a political "Perfect Storm" to come out of this for Republicans.
Democrats, such as Chris Dodd from Connecticut, have ALREADY come out defending Jim Webb. He was on Imus this morning. To me, Imus represents the left of center Independent vote. Imus was talking about this being sick and how uncomfortable he was with it. He then asked Dodd if he wanted to hear a section read? Dodd refused and defended Webb. This is the kind of filth Democrats have defended in the past (or at least try to get us to look past, think NAMBLA). The smart Democrats will run as hard and as fast as they can from Jim Webb and condemn him in the least ambiguous terms. They should give him up as lost. But these are the few. The rest will do like Chris Dodd, and being too politically power hungry, try to change the conversation and say that it really isn't a big deal and should be off limits.
I think this has potential to not only EXPLODE the Republican base in Virginia into action, but to also nationalize the election by increasing Republican turnout across the board.
Think about it. Tell someone a person is guilty of rape and they will say either put him in prison or execute him. Tell them a man has molested his son and done what the excerpt of the book says of a four year old boy child, and they viscerally want to hang that sorry horrible excuse of a human being. This is a stone thrown into deep water and the Democrats are too stupid to realize they are tied to it if they defend them. This brings out the Republican vote, possibly depresses the Democrat vote, and VERY possibly swings independents to us.
These Democrats drug Republicans through the Foley dirt, and NOW, when something imminently more nasty and perverted comes along, they say ignore it and defend the perp? This illustrates their hypocrisy in a breathtakingly powerful way. Drudge has it, Rush has it (as all of talk radio now does), the new media (internet) has it.
All I can say is that if this is the Republican "October Surprise" it is a NUKE compared to the Foley firecracker.
WELL SAID!
In my opinion, this might just be enough to not only save the House and Senate for the Republicans, I think it MAY (DARE I DREAM) even be enough to ADD to our majorities.
That's certainly the hope. As the Foley story was meant to suppress much of the the base, this will produce the opposite.
Rush just came on and stated that he visited the Democratic Underground and they were APOPLECTIC! HA, HA, HA!!! It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of slimes!
I've obviously missed something in the news. What is the "this" that you are referring to?
"Tell someone a person is guilty of rape and they will say either put him in prison or execute him. Tell them a man has molested his son and done what the excerpt of the book says of a four year old boy child, and they viscerally want to hang that sorry horrible excuse of a human being."
I'm guessing this has something to do with it, but I'm still not clear.
The media will not cover this. You're fooling yourselves if you think Republicans are playing on any kind of level playing field, or if you think Democrats care at all if their people are slime.
"This" is the story here: http://www.drudgereport.com/flashaw.htm
Basically, Webb wrote some truly sick things in some of his fiction books. I'd post some examples, but they are just too vile.
Piytar, I felt the same way. I was going to post a thread for the first time, but I could not bring myself to copy anything Webb wrote. I was sick for hours after reading that smut. I actually wish I had someone to just tell me it was truely sick and disgusting and do like they did in a video clip say part of the passage and then say describes a sexual act. And I don't believe that is mainstream culture in Vietnam and I don't care if Webb saw something like that it would have been easy to work that information into the book without making it a NAMBLA members dream come true.
I got a little sloppy and in too much of a hurry and did not realize it until I had submitted the post. I should have included a reference to the current Jim Web book scandal brought to light by Senator Allen. That is the "this."
The media does not have to cover this if it becomes a forest fire on Rush, Drudge, and the rest of the internet. If they don't cover it, it will do more to damage the MSM.
GOOD POST!!
Yeah!
Hello, yeah!
My two cents.....I think the passages of this excuse for a human being are typical of the depth of depravity that exists within the bowels of the Democratic/Liberal Psyche. The Psyche must be fed....it must savor the perverse aspects (and acts) of sexuality, it must assuage the guilt by validating them through forcing acceptance of unnatural behavior via Legistlation (marriage for homosexuals), and it must titilate itself by feigned indignation over opponents's shortcomings (Foley). All the while, they secretly are mentally masturbating at the prospect......They are akin to the Lord of the Rings goblin questing, thirsting after the power of the evil ring.
Remember. The Democrat agenda is to turn this nation into the cesspool that is Western Europe, where the age of consent is as young as 12 in some countries. The goal of the Democrat/Gay agenda is nothing less than the normalization and eventual legalization of sex with minors, a homo and pervert wet dream.
The DemonRats were demanding Hastert and the rest of the House Republican leadership resign because they allegedly didn't investigate Foley's e-mails and IMs as quickly and thoroughly as they should have. By that standard, the whole DemonRat Senate leadership should resign because they made a pornographer who takes a particular joy in depicting incestuous pedophilia their Senate candidate in Virginia.
Every Pubbie in every Senate and House race should insist that his opponent take a stand on whether the Pornographer should drop out of the Virginia race and apologize.
