The keepers of the IREY/Murtha ping list, in order to keep as many of our fellow freepers informed as possible, are proud to announce the kickoff of DIANA IREY COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY #II-DAILY NEWS.
Here you will continue to find the reason of the day why Jack Murtha refuses to debate Diana Irey provided by Diana's own website!
In addition, we have added many new features as the Countdown has evolved.
Look for the IREY FUNNIES, IREY DIARY, great pictures and graphics and so much more!
We have had wonderful support and interest in the original DIANA IREY COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY THREAD and we encourage all to visit it if you missed it the first time around.
Also, please stop by daily to our new thread to cheer Diana on and enjoy the fun with your fellow freepers!
Thanks for all your support, Jeff. We knew it was a tough battle, but Diana really did roll up her sleeves and fight for our troops.
Thanks for the support, Mom. We'll fight again.
Greetings from the Irey Daily thread! I'm a little bleary this morning but it looks like Schmidt won by a slim margin. Congratulations and thanks for your support!
Sad loss, but Diana will come back.. She has shown herself to be a fierce fighter against tough odds.
(MONONGAHELA, November 7) -- Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey this evening conceded the race to Jack Murtha, and issued the following statement at her Election Night party:
Good evening, and thank you for coming.
And before I say one more word, I want to say this --
THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.
THANK YOU, for your support, and your encouragement, and your pats on the back.
Thank you for welcoming me, and our entire campaign team, into your homes and your hearts.
Thank you for your hard work -- the phone calls, the yard sign runs, the door knocking in your own neighborhoods and even outside your own communities.
And. most importantly of all, thank you for your prayers.
This has been a long campaign, and a hard one.
But every day was made a bit easier by the knowledge that we were not alone -- that there were people like you out there, doing work with your own family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers, spreading our message of change.
I just got off the phone with Jack Murtha.
I called to congratulate him on his victory.
One of the glories of our democracy is this tradition -- and it's a rather odd one in the history of the world, I'll readily acknowledge -- that we spend months and months banging each other on the head, and then on Election Night we shake hands and congratulate one another.
And life goes on.
All over the world, people envy us. We settle with ballots what others are forced to settle with bullets.
And we put our own blood and treasure on the line, to bring to others the same right to determine for themselves their own futures that we take for granted.
We are the only nation in the history of the world with this tradition. When we send our young men and women abroad and put them in harm's way, we do so not for reasons of territorial conquest, or the expansion of empire, but to defend liberty and to spread freedom.
Tonight, even though we have not won this political campaign, we are winners still -- because the values we hold dear, the notion that we are a nation governed by the consent of the governed, has been reaffirmed.
This has been one of the more difficult -- but also one of the most rewarding -- experiences of my life.
I will always remember this campaign with joy.
My family and I have you to thank for that.
God bless you, and God bless the United States.
"MARK FOLEY CONCEDES TO MURRYMOM".
"If a democrat came within shooting range of me tonight I'd shoot 'em with my new crossbow. And hang 'em on my wall."
I hear they taste like chicken, LOL!
I'm having lunch with a dozen of my Army pals today. I'm certain there will be lively lunch conversation to say the least.
And then we'll circle the wagons and keep on truckin'!
Life goes on. Maybe the Republicans will listen to us next time, on things like a secure border, less spending, etc.
At any rate, what is done is done.
Have a great lunch. I'd be curious to know what our troops are thinking right now.
Much as I want to be gracious and see the bright side and all that, I can't stop thinking about the troops--and the Marines murtha slandered for his selfish gain.
Mega dittos, my FRiend!
Yes, we do know and yet there is no fight. ;*(
My plan for the day is to clean the entire house. Dust bunnies fear me.
Today is still a bit of a let down. Not as depressed as last night though. The sun is shining here and that always makes me thankful for a new day.
I beat you to the dust bunnies this morning. My 11 mo. old granddaughter comes on Wed. and had to get after it before she "mops" the floor with her knees.
I hope not.
Let's just hope we are able to finish the job and not just pull out like they made us do in Vietnam.
I'm trying to focus on the positives. Peter King and Joe Lieberman were reelected. Both are strong hawks. From what I can tell, it looks like Jean Schmidt was reelected in Ohio. And now that the Dems have the House (at least), we can hope the enemedia's reporting on Iraq and the economy will become more honest.
Let me give you my address! The RV is in dire need of a good cleaning. My house? When I see it again I'm sure it will need cleaned, too. ;*)
I am Clean Man. When it comes to tidiness, I have no "off" button. Be careful what you wish for!
ROTFLOL! I see you are delusional this morning.
LOL! I remember being that way a long time ago in a far away land. ;*)
If I lived closer I'd come give you a hand, after all your hard work on the campaign trail.
On second thought, maybe you could just drive that RV on over to Illinois....Never mind.:)
Hope you're listening to Rush!
I'll make you laugh, any which way I can! ;*)
LOL! I think you're an ass, but that was pretty funny.
Whaddaya mean ... NEVER MIND! Illinois is probably closer than where I live! ;*)
Not sure what I think of what he's saying at the moment.
RALPH! How are you? Good to see you. ;*)
Hey, if you all have a DC Chapter "Thank you, Rummy" drill at his DC hideout, I'd appreciate being pinged for pictures and stuff. I will miss him.
Come on over then. My guys will be up in the woods lookin for deer. They're good at that. Lookin that is.;)
Bush reassuring troops they won't lose our country's support for them.
Yep, we're all being thrown under the bus.
I will certainly ping you if that happens. He will be missed by many. ;*(
I don't know HOW he is reassuring our troops while throwing Rummy, and us, under the bus.
Good thing I was numb. I hardly felt those wheels crushing me.
Unforunately RedRover, this will send a message to Democrats that being anti military, anti troops, is something Americans want.
They had these attitudes all along, but they had to pretend in public they didn't so they could lure the more moderate democrats, adn dissaffected Republicans.
Look for the Murthas and Kerrys to come out of the closet now.
Murtha and Kerry have nothing to fear. They lie, slander, distort, destroy lives--and voters shout hurrah. I agree that we'll get more from them and others will follow their example. We can be ready for them, but armed with what? Our own outrage? We need sharper weapons in this fight.
There is a woman with class, heart, and dignity. I am proud to be counted among her supporters and admirers, and hope and pray Diana stands and fights another day. Her team deserves an award for an absolutely outstanding effort. God bless Diana Irey and her family, and God bless all who stood beside her and fought the good fight.
I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I know we all would. Diana Irey can count on me again in the future. Next time, we won't come in second.
Thanks for dropping in, by the way. I feel like the Ghost of Christmas past, hanging out here by myself. I should be getting on to other things but I keep coming back here.
THIS is GREAT!!
I just need to take a break for a little while. On top of the crushing events of last night, I had a double viewing/funeral today. My heart literally hurts.
Keep the faith, Sisku. I took a peek at the end of the story. The good guys win.
"We can be ready for them, but armed with what?"
Oh, believe me, they'll give us plenty of ammunition in the coming months, years. And it will be a real awakening for this country.
Then, just in time for the next presidential election, BOOM. The crazies are in charge of the nuthouse now, and when they become "drunk" with their own power, they WILL show the world what they are all about.
I was sad this morning, but the more I think about it, the more I am convinced this ONE MORE chance they have been given will be their downfall.
And we'll be armed, the hardworking, responsible people in this country. I've seen it happen before, and it will happen again.
I keep dropping by to see what's going on.
I keep coming back to one thing in my thoughts, and that is that I have sadly overestimated the American people...
Many of the candidates, both challenger and incumbent, that they elected yesterday - were - and are presently mired in ethics, corruption and legal scandals.
This is America?
To see one of our enemies elected to public office in Minnesota? To see a Rick Santorum - no matter his party - replaced by a Casey? By 20 points? In Pennsylvania? To see a Webb have even a long shot at winning in Virginia? To see a Graf lose in a district and in a state that is being bankrupted by illegal immigrants? To see a McCaskill win in Missou? To see Irey lose by thirty? To a man like Murtha? To see a Pelosi take the leadership position in the House? To see a Klobuchar win in Minnesota?
I don't know what it is, but this is not America...and these people do not represent American values or interests.
...and the American people elected them...and others just like them...
Oh no you don't! Look at the post above yours LOL!
I just couldn't do it this morning. How was the day?
I sure am late getting here tonight, and I'm already pooped.
