Mike Hatch’s aggressive reputation showed through Thursday for one of the few times in this year’s heated gubernatorial race.
Hatch lashed out at Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Republicans for attacking his running mate, Judi Dutcher, over a recent incident in which the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party lieutenant governor candidate appeared to know nothing about E-85 ethanol.
“This governor is afraid to debate me on issues,” said Hatch, the current attorney general who recent polls show is narrowly leading Pawlenty in the governor’s race. “He wants to beat up on a woman.”
Hatch’s anger overflowed during a Thursday morning telephone interview.
A Forum Communications reporter asked Hatch about Dutcher’s knowledge of ethanol and why she wasn’t available to discuss the issue. Hatch abruptly ended the interview with: “You’re nothing more than a Republican whore. Goodbye.” He then hung up.

He's done well at suppressing it thru the campaign - but now it looks like it has caught up to him.
I don't care whether the reporter was a man or woman - you don't call someone a "whore".

Like Rush says, it doesn't take long for them to be reduced to name calling if they are confronted with the facts.
you would think she'd at least know her running mate's stance on E85. geez, big booty Judi, get on the same page. Love it or hate it,it's only a 1.5 BILLION dollar industry in MN and if she ever fueled her own car, she'd see it on nearly every pump.
The papers are pretty quiet about the polls. I wonder what they actually are at this point.

It looks like KARE 11 and KSTP 5 are covering the story. You know, if it was a Republican candidate who didn't know what E85 was, or called someone a "Democrat whore," it would make the front page of the Strib in a huge-letter headline. Hmm...

This paper has done its utmost to clear a smooth path for all their DFL favorites. It's disgusting. They stopped being a newspaper.
They're now an operating subsidiary of the state DFL party.

Can you imagine the headline had a Republican called a reporter a "Democratic Whore"? And yet, this is the first time I have heard of this.
