Not evil. Fact. Political move by the Times? Of course, but the American people are growing tired of losing good people in a war that seems to be on a treadmill.

This election will reflect growing impatience....justifiably in my opinion.

We have the lowest casualty rate we've had for any war we've ever had apart from the first Gulf War. But if you show every American that gets shot on the front page of the NY times, while never mentioning much less showing the enemy dead, you could convince anyone, that we're losing.

They often use variants of the long-barreled Dragunov rifle

I have one of these (Dragonuv) and I am very glad they do not know how to use them yet. With stories like this I think the story below is appropriate.

A HISTORY LESSON Beer and evolution and other facts: The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization, and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups: Liberals and Conservatives. Once beer was discovered it required grain, and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented yet, so while our early human ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed. Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ and doing the sewing, fetching and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girliemen. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the trade union, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided. Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth,! The elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish, but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule in baseball, because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat. Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, soldiers, athletes, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living. Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe that Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. The liberals crept in after the Wild West was tamed, and created a business of trying to get MORE for nothing. And you thought history was boring!

Today in the Philadelphia area the candidate for Jim Gerlach's seat, Lois Murphy, is running an ad using the casualties of our soldiers in October as a reason for voting for her next week. Does she not realize that she just validated the terrorist reason for killing them? She is a disgusting pig and she will get more soldiers killed with her ad. How can anyone vote for someone like that.

"...election will reflect growing impatience..."

That growing impatience to which you refer is being baited and hyper-driven by the msm, which is OUT TO LUNCH when it comes to fully understanding the long-term negative consequences of failure in Iraq AND the actual situation on the ground their. Yes, I'm impatient and want to see good news coming from the middle east. But I'm also savvy enough to realize that the msm has been playing this negative drum-beat since day one and are culpably responsible for the public's disquietude.

These comments are so absurd & wrong-headed, they can't be ignored:

1) You conceed the publishing of this photo is clearly political. Thus the manipulation of a "fact" for political purposes, when it involves helping in dissemination of propaganda or furthering the effects of enemy attacks are indeed born of evil intent and furthering evil objectives.

2) Growing impatience fed by misinformation & propaganda perpetuated by the media. This is what / why UBL was so confident the terrorists would prevail because Americans are so easily swayed in such regards.

"he American people are growing tired of losing good people in a war that seems to be on a treadmill."

What are you? Some sort of US data clearing house? Or do you just make this stuff up like the rest of the libs and others in the throes of BDS?

2-3 deaths/day is nothing. That's what a military does. It dies as well as kills.

The US is positioned in the Middle East where the enemy is. The enemy is coming to us there so we can kill them.

The value per US military death has never been higher. What's your plan for spending life?

I have the NDM 88 ChiCom Dragonuv and a PPK. The SVD I had the barrel changed to get a .308 bore as the 762x54 barrel is a .310 bore. I am still 762x54. This allows me to use the 168 grain Sierra match kings.

Out in NM using the PSO and POSP series scopes hitting 1 gallon milk jugs to 600 meters was not difficult at all. At 100 yrds it prints sub MOA. In the right hands and a good scope it can be very deadly.

The New York Slimes is very selective in which photos they want their dwindling readers to see.

They were so very concerned about sensibilities they never published these, but have no problem publishing a photo of someone's son/father/ brother, lying wounded, in defense of their SLIMY A$$ES!

I viewed the multimedia presentation related to this story at the web page. The slide show and narrative portrayed courageous Marines responding immediately on behalf of one of their own wounded. Their high level of training was evident as they moved the stricken Marine from his exposed position, watched for further danger, began emergency medical treatment, and called in mobile assistance. After seeing their comrade safely off, these American freedom fighters continued their patrol.

There is no praise high enough to do justice for what these men and women are doing on a daily basis. The NY Times may play politics in the blood of these heroes today but the day will come when it's publishers will be called to account for their actions. The American public will continue to pass their own judgment by seeking their information elsewhere.

You've got to just love a station putting on programs about "Broken Government" the weekend before the election. Why not just give over the network to unpaid, 24-hour DNC infomercials, while they're at it. Bias? What bias?

The NYT has always been a mouthpiece for the DNC.

The NYT isn't fooling anybody anymore. They're showing their readers what they want to see. And their readers are going to vote 'Rat, anyway. Not a single vote will be changed by this photo.

Except that it might infuriate a few more conservatives to get off their duffs and help keep the barbarians from the gate...

The nyt is working for the enemy. They are publishing photos, articles and editorials that are trying to demoralize the American people in a time of war. They are publishing leaked, classified information that has harmed America's intelligence efforts against the enemy and actually aided them.

You think that's political?

I know that it's evil.
